Grant Elliot 9/1 for top bat N/Z yet 100/1 for player of the match with p/p..OUTSTANDING VALUE

High scoring for mine. One of the boundaries is only 45 metres or so.

YES FIRST TEAM BATTING OVER 275, 300,325 for me

Australia win this in an eased down canter, there's no way NZ are beating us on this size of ground
They've been beating the likes of Sri Lanka, Pakistan and England and that's where this aura of invincibility has come from, we've been beating on the likes of India and South Africa (convincingly, too) it doesn't matter what the conditions are, our bowlers are better, our batsman are better and we have our world class captain back who by all report is as fit as a fiddle, NZ rely too heavily on 1 or 2 players and that's never a good situation against one of the best bowling attacks in the world you could say I am very confident |

Yeah bourndaries are tiny on this ground. It is quite possible that a few edges got for 6 today as they have reconfigured the ground so that the square boundaries are longer but the straight ones are shorter. Plenty of runs I think.

Agree with SecondComing. Size of ground significantly favours Aus for mine. Only department where I'd say NZ are better than Aus is in the new ball attack (Southee/Boult are better than both Mitchs imo). Other than that Aus stronger all round and I reckon they'll win well.

Fancied NZ until reading this thread

That all said, the garden of Eden does happen to be a graveyard for foreign visitors though. Or am I thinking rugby? B

aust win toss and bat.

Aus most sixes for me as well at odds against. Batting first usually an advantage for this type of bet.

australia not got a quality spinner maxwell is part time off break
|
|
By:
Tim Southee and Boult are the best fast bowlers in the world by a large margin
|
|
By:
Actually think NZ will turn aus over later in the tournament. Just not today/at this ground.

sometimes small grounds don't necessarily = massive scores as there are no 2s or 3s
|
|
By:
you can almost get a runout for a single on the boundary

run line to big 302

By:
Looking for a few early wickets, spread evenly about so we can get our back/lay on
|
|
By:
55m straight, 65m square boundaries - always risky laying runs. Even though previous games do suggest the line is high.
