Selfishly took the entertainment and game away from the spectators and gets out on 99. At least we get a comical moment in Test match history to make up for the anti-climax.

Anyone who took the 8/11 on the draw must be laughing

By:
ok, boof and smith facked up there. they didn't realise that lunch would be delayed for up to half an hour or until their innings ended.
By:
looks like smith forgot they'd carry on for another half hour 9 down
By:
Lehmann and Clarke should be shot for not knowing that lunch is delayed with nine down. Cost themselves an over.

So Australia have declared! Play was supposed to be halted for lunch, but since the last wicket were in, they can extend the session by 30 minutes. After the end of the last over, Australia decided that was enough. So that brings an end to the most boring, insipid two hours of play which was interspersed with rain. Australia didn't want to push on, India were happy with Australia's tactics and it all led to boring cricket. |

sort of summed up their approach this morning. can only imagine the abuse cook and england would have took if they'd played in a similar manner in such a strong position
By:
It was Clarke on the boundary with Lehmann calling them in. If you think Smith has any power at all in the team as yet you are dreaming.
By:
By:
Clarke is captain though officially. Smith is just a stand in and nothing more, no way has Smith got any power like Rob says.
By:
Steve Smith is not a joke cricketer at all. He is a fantastic cricketer. But he had close to zero influence in any decision today and that will remain the case whilst Clarke is officially captain.
By:
chances are smith will be full time captain this time next year maybe even in england next summer

might get a nice 5% layin india, after 20/0
By:
Sadly that has probably ruined the 5th day. I hope not but can imagine India will just defend, block and not offer any shots. Let's all hope for a pleasant surprise.

tendulkar archive on now

By:
Nows the time to lay the draw if you backed it at the start of play today, green up.
By:
because Johnson could easily rip through this defence minded Indian batting line-up
By:
who ever got on at 1.77 very well done, as you now lay at 1.38, green up and fu ck to bed

I laid most of my draw green when that 6 was struck. Got a free bet for another 25% of the market.
By:
Realistically, any chance the Australia price gets to 5/1 assuming no wickets lost in the first 50 mins or so?
By:
I'm sticking with the draw at 1.82. After a few overs the price will drop by the ball if there's no wickets. Early wicket and I'll bail but I want it all at this stage. Also chance of more rain.
By:
1.82 damn, thought the biggest was the 1.77 tbh, wd though.
By:
It was 1.86 an hour or so before play.
By:
I backed the draw at 1.94 last night.

you guys need to calm down this is not a draw yet
By:
india can do a collapse
By:
all green, aus/draw, BIG red india .
By:
I only saw it when 1.77. Slip which is why I'd be laying the draw now, India could easily collapse.
By:
I'd be putting a few £ on India as well alfee, highly unlikely they will get these runs but green up on all sides, don't leave anything to chance.
By:
definitely be some carnage in the next few overs, would still be a nervous draw lumper
By:
*hours not overs
By:
There you go, the collapse is on.
By:
calm down Bill Lawry!
By:
OHh YES! Good start
By:
I bet the trade out lads are happy, they can sit there and watch the carnage whilst the draw lumpers are sitting there sh itting themselves

Who's leading the MOTM here? Harris, Smith or Kohli?
By:
So true Horse. It doesn't look like they will be able to block it out with the ball doing so much now.
