you can't pick finn in the squad with a concurrent lions fixture and not pick him. you either think he's ready to play again (and FFS he's an established test bowler, not some experiment) or he's not. |

like India's changes. Dhawan has been a walking wicket so Gambhir defo deserved a go. Aaron is raw but has pace, Shami been ineffective on the whole. Finally Ashwin in for Rohit - again makes sense.

Unbelievable! Still tense morning here. Have all my bets in. Just hope India are not 3 or 4 down by lunch. Can't see the point of bringing Gambhir in. He has not had much cricket. he is a fighter but I would have kept Rohit and moved Rahane up to open. Glad Aaron is playing but really Yadav should have been on this tour. Yadav, Aaron and Kumar on this pitch would have been interesting |

it makes me angry that they made immense concessions for prior and reselected him on blind faith rather than realistically appraising him, and yet keep finn out for someone who really has no claim for test match selection. his first class average isn't that good for a start, and he's not done anything at test level. also, given that the oval is likely to be flat and easy to bat on, what happens if jordan fails on a quick deck with a bit of movement this morning, and then they recall finn for the oval and he gets flayed about. Finn is the future. He has the potential to become a truly outstanding matching winning test bowler. Way better than Broad, way better than Anderson. And yet they treat him like sh1t. |

I think i should have had a nibble on England at 3.25 this morning. Waiting for a couple of Indian wickets before building a little more on them. India too have a tall bowler and a fast bowler and a swinger, an off spinner and a slow left ortho. It could all come down to the first session imho!

His selection made no sense to me. Hasn't had much batting and if India batted second he might have got a hundred but first up with moisture and cloud cover is just plum bad luck. I would have kept Sharma like I said and moved either Rahane of Pujara up. I hope GG gets a chance second innings. Indian selectors trying to out do England selectors for the dumb ass awards!
