26 innings and counting without a ton for Cook. Needs runs with Essex, and best for all concerned if that's where he goes to get them.
Here's England's stupid thinking - at one point in the summer every England player was told to rest, apart from Moeen Ali, who having batted for hours for a ton against Sri Lanka was the one player who actually did need a rest. |

Nobody has any balls in the England set-up - we all know he's a walking wicket and a poor capt. Knock yourself into form for your county if you need to not for your country ??

I reckon Ishant will have success on this deck - bit of extra bounce and all that

compton's the real victim, he did practically nothing wrong, was dropped and a whim, and was the obvious replacement for Trott last winter, but such is the conceit of the selectors that they dare not admit they make mistakes.
carberry was undone by trying to play a different game to his natural one. i'd venture that was a product of the setup rather than something he did himself, or even if it was his own idea someone should have talked him out of it; can't see boof telling warner to go out and bat like tavare. |

I just cannot see England winning this match. My betting strategy is to back India over 5 and to lay England odds on.Am hoping England be around 250 all out and India get the same in their 2nd innings before spinning England out.

india already better with the new ball than england were.

The England set up is a joke - has been for ages. Defo agree r.e compton. Carberry I have no idea why he was picked in tests rather than odis/t20s. Esp when mugs like Lumb got picked in the latter fairly often, and also Kieswetter who at the time was very limited. ODI's even when you have players like Cook and Bell opening and Root playing on a pitch where 300 is needed for example. Just madness when you have top youngsters like Roy, Vince, Hales etc itching to get in and showing form. The side is too rigid in it's thinking and it shows in the results recently across all formats.

Can't see England winning now so it must surely be an India win or a draw if it rains a lot.

By:

By:
Bell will be tempted by a short one soon

By:
I don't see how a draw is possible here, seems a good price to lay

India probing - just a couple of mm away from a couple of wickets that over

just put a pinner in and take Cook out - that only basically costs Eng 10 runs an innings ?

My green loved that wicket !

Root has happy memories of Lord's (nearly 400 runs in 2 matches), crucial period in the game this.
|
|
By:
I reckon this pitch won't quite suit Root as much as the recent pitches. Certainly bang in form though.
|
|
By:
nothing wrong with the pitch... just to negative

Bit too hot for the Northerners and fanta pants in London today?
