I would re-introduce a bit of spin now with two new batsmen at the crease
By:
They haven't won but you were talking a lot of nonsense earlier - probably pocket talking. Taken stake back here anyway, keeping green all with India. Should be over by tea tomorrow like you said.

Problem for Cook if he goes back to Essex - no county championship games for them for a month!!
Final 2 T20 group games, then the Royal London Cup 1-dayers start, 7 of those in the next 3 weeks. |

botham touched on it briefly.
cook but one of the six big problems. i.Cook's form and terrible captaincy. ii. broad and anderson's length has been terrible here and at headingley. it has been unforgiveable and contributed hugely to this result and the series loss against Sri Lanka. iii. it is no good picking a spinner the captain has no faith in iv. Prior is not fit and his batting has been sh1t. forget that knock at Lord's under easy conditions, when it mattered it's been rubbish. v. Bell has been poor all summer. He needs to step up as the senior batsman and set the approach. vi. Stop bowling short at tail enders on good wickets. the pitches aren't fast enough and neither are our bowlers. |
By:
with cook they just need to relieve him of the captaincy and let him find his form with the bat. Any idiot can see that he isn't the man for the job.
By:
the light is not good now,
By:
They should use that thing on Cook's head, might improve his captaincy
By:
problem is when you've publicly backed him to the hilt, and in the process sacked england's leading run scorer as you considered him toxic to cook's captaincy, you're going to look like a right f*cking idiot getting rid of him.
much better to let him fail and resign. |

By:
draws a lay all day at 15, no rain tomorrow & only 6 wickets or 214 runs needed, there must be a positive result either way.
By:
I'm thinking the same, draw too big.
By:
all it takes is one partnership even these 2 are capable in root and mooen if they get the score upto 200 for 4 india will get nervy and start playing horrible cricket like they normally do
By:
only the brave is a brave man to be saying india are dead certs
By:
pxb,no the draw is too short.
By:
layed the draw already, may put all my green on india. they arent certs, but 1.46 is a lot bigger than id make them from here.
By:
the draw isnt bigger because england are scoring at a snails pace.
if they score at the same rate tomorrow, theyd only get to 310. and thats from the top order, a few more wickets and they could be blocking out every shot. if india were in the position england are in, the draw would be 100/1+ |
By:
they're not dead certs at all. They've been too big all match though and it took the market ages to wake up to what was going on. Like you, the market seemed to think 400 was needed!
Looks very unlikely that England chase these now but by no means will I stress by keeping any red on any outcome. Any India backer should be sitting pretty now tbh. |
By:
just backed the draw @17 very good value root and ali block till lunch 160/170 draw will be trading around 71sh
By:
It would take something quite remarkable for this to be a draw. Price should be at least 50. No rain threat tomorrow. 90 overs to bowl - new ball to come. Will be wickets or runs either way. ENG definitely have a chance but probably should be more like 5/6.
By:
You can never say never but England or the draw are surely highly unlikely - I have the Indians @ 2.3 but don't feel the need to trade out - who knows I may be proven wrong (again) but I'll take my chance - will be surprised to see it last much beyond lunch
By:
the draw price has nowt to do with rain, the whole world knows theres no chance of rain tomorrow. its to do with how england will approach it. if theyre 300 for 9 with 5 overs left, you can get bet your life they won even try for that at 4 an over. probably wont matter, cos theyll more than likely be all out before tea.
By:
how can the draw be so low, theres 90 overs to bowl,no threat of rain & england will either get the target or be bowled out.
By:
think its to high myself..
By:
that's what I was thinking. Surely with the likes of Prior, Stokes and Broad and Plunkett, we will either get bowled out or easily score more than 2.5 per over.
By:
By:
no chance england block for a draw when they only require 2 runs a over
By:
1st session will decide where this match is going if england get to lunch with total upto 180 with 4 or 5 down they should win match
