In my stupor..

I feel disgusted in myself now for not studgying harder at school and being so poor that I could not afford to bet more on this match!  How long have SL been favourites in this match?

Did Agger's or Swaan just say " for God's sake " on TMS? and why have England odds just come in with the loss of a wicket?

hard to think why the odds are like this, any chance of rain? I didn't think there was. Eng may just try and block everything but already 5 down.

geoffrey spot on about jimmy.

and cook needs to tell him and take him off if he doesn't do what he's supposed to.

it's not just cook's lack of tactical nouse, he's no authority, particularly with broad and anderson (and latterly swann).

he needs to be a c*nt like nasser but they don't respect him.

Athers was ticking earlier. He was getting redder and redder! Fuming at Cook's deep set field to Matthews and not bowling Ali for 90 minutes..

V. well played Sri Lanka. I feel strangely chuffed for them.

might as well make Vaughan captain, as they are carrying a batsman anyway. and he got paid another year of his contract money, so he owes

Well done to anyone who made money on this (and SL of course). I was lucky not to lose several times more than I will.

this is how a draw can happen when everybody thinks "if theyre still batting end of day 5, theyll have the runs"

i mean it wont be a draw, sri lanka will almost certainly win, but the england win is virtually impossible from here. IF england are somehow still batting at the end of day 5, they probably wont reach 300 nevermind 350. early wickets mean the runs dont happen. 3 an over sounds simple, it aint when youre trying to save a draw.

might be a tricky trading day this. like draw price gather inward momentum, you're planning the holiday to Barbados and bang bang 2 wickets in 2 balls, that kind of thing

Been impressed with the way Ian Bell has come out to do the press conferences and given a very honest, gracious and candid assessment despite his obvious disappointments. No sign of Cook so reading between the lines perhaps he already has one foot in the door to be the new capt ? Perhaps Root would be a risky appointment this soon so make Bell capt and Root vice would be my guess ????

easy win from here I would guess..especially after getting the main 5 out already, tail enders left IMO

Morning all "morning Richie"

Gut feeling about today is that if/when we lose, Cook will be banned by the ICC for a test match in the next few days as punishment for the slow over rate. Then he'll announce that he'll go back to playing regularly for Essex to try and get back in the runs, and Bell will take over. Would be surprised if it's Broad - with dad Chris a referee, and sister Gemma doing the computer stuff, it would sound like a family takeover.

England will make a good battle of it, I'm sure. which is why it will be hard to trade
