Brilliant watching the Windies play but i think Pakistan will turn them over.Not the same team against a quality bowling team..mind you.. hope im wrong.You gotta love the West Indies passion.

actually give NZ a good chance of turning over SL,so assuming they beat the Dutch(not necessarily a fait accompli) they would be grp winners.also,reckon Eng have a shot at beating the Saffer choke machine leaving Eng & SL on 4 pts but Lanka going thru on better r/r.
Also of the view Pak can beat Windies but would have 2 win well & beat up on Bangla 2 surpass the present r/r deficit vis-a-vis Windies.
just got a feeling whoever qualifies of the 2 goes all the way.

Looking at the bowling, you'd think they shouldnt concede the runs, with steyn / imran / parnell / m-morkel, would favor jp to bowl over albie but with the sides left in you'd fancy them to play him well.  If imran has a bad day then sa will go as he's been almost their best bowler so far and kept them in most games.

Their batting for me is their weakest area!  id have picked kallis over a-morkel (has kallis retired from all formats) as a floater or even instead of amla.  Similar type player but you'd have his overs.

Where's levy gone?  (has he been worked out /leg side hacker)

A few other power hitters / bowlers about but they seem to like m-morkel.

Id fancy india to take them out tho.

wasn't looking 2 good early doors tho'

yeah.... bit lucky and even more so not to panic and get some windies lay backs when they were in trouble.  Took a 100 at 7.0 and put it on pak before the game, then had a few quid as pak drifted to the high 40's. 

Topped up with a cheap windies match odds lay looking for some fight / some insurance but nothing came.  Over all very happy.  Laid Windies as the price came down 6, 5 and some 4.5.

Hoping my 3.1 on india goes now and then lanka / sa will be atleast small winners.

Might keep an eye on Windies / india final price  now for a little angle at an edge?

anyone reading this?  i think there's free money in the top 4 bat market.  Iv spoken with betfair and they tell me that the qualifying games  by the dutch will not count for the purpose of the market.  (feel free to check with betfair)

so... cooper  who someone thinks is leading and should make the top 4....wont because the runs in the first few associate games will not count.  Iv laid as much as i can but someone has twigged on and pushing the price up now.

I think he has about 80 runs now and so miles behind.

just checked again ....and betfair again confirmed the associate phase is deemed as the qualification phase for the super 10's and for the purpose of this market only runs scored in the super 10 will count.

im -800 / +540.  Cooper in last 4. I should go in again but will settle for that now.

iv asked them to look into it now skm.  will know shortly either way.   I will not be too pleased having asked them 3 times how many runs has cooper got? and being told the associates runs dont count.

What do they mean about qualifying matches though? Bangladesh v Afghanistan was officially match number 1 of the world cup, and they are settling off the ICC stats page. Maybe the qualifying matches refer to the matches weeks ago for qualifying?

when iv spoken to the helpdesk, they came back and said the runs scored in the associate matches do not count for the purpose of this market. 

they basically said holland / bangladesh qualified from the associate groups for the super 10 phase and its only the runs scored in the super 10 that count.

And thats what iv gone on. Iv had 2 emails back, 2 live chats and they keep telling me that the runs scored by cooper against the associates will not count.  yet he's still being bet?

I think it obvious that the runs scored in the dubai tournament wouldnt count for the bangladesh tourny.  Its quite misleading now either way.

I do remember an occasion ....It was like this before in a champions league t20 tourney where rampaul took lots of wickets for t+t in the qualifying phase and t+t made it through.  Then he took some more wickets in the main tourney and one or two people heavily bet him as he appeared to be way in front.  But when you took out those qualifying wickets he was 1 behind.  Iv been a bit braver this time, hoping for the same ruling.

i think you'll be ok. If not you have a case for compensation imo from poor information. Badly written rules.  Only 365 offering at the mo, and qualifiers are included there 100%

going on what iv been told in the emails and live chat... im hoping im ok.......... i think il be ok.

(i did email in and ask in the rampaul example and they confirmed then that the earlier wickets didn't count)  but when you think you're right and the money is seemingly coming and coming against what you've been told its abit strange and hard to pull the plug.

iv sent another email with my first reply i got...asking why cooper hasnt been settled given they previously stated the runs wouldnt count and waiting for a reply.  

as for bet 365..... it probably does them a favor...i wouldnt mind laying their cooper price, given i think one or 2 might get up and still beat his 231 but if the associate runs count then i cant see him getting pushed from top 4.

iv made contact several times now, had responses from several people at different times all saying they would not count.  lol.  off to ibas if they do!  haha

As highlighted in the bottom section of the Rules it states that qualifying matches do not count towards the total.

Lanza hope they are right for you, but something does not seem right. If Tommy Cooper cant win the market and all other dutch players have been taken out, then why not him? Im thinking 9/1 might be a bet. If anyone catches him probably only kholi or Sharma or possibly Gayle going crazy. Its seemingly getting harder to score runs.

there were qualifying matches before the matches that started on 16/3/2014

i think you need an email confirming games played on 16/3, 17/3 etc are not
going to be counted before you can be sure

hi guys, just got in... not too pleased if this is the case.  And il be going to ibas with the 2 emails and code for the conversation in live chat.

In the first email i sent...i asked and mentioned the previous qualifying comp before this tourney started and asked about those runs and if the wording meant they wouldnt count. BUt it was obvious they wouldnt.

I hadnt take any bets at this point.

Then evens appeared and before taking some...i went on live chat and asked for confirmation / clarification would the runs count scored by the dutch / bangladeshi's be carried forward into the super 10phase and was told no they wouldnt.  And then i laid the evens and topped up with a 6/4 lay as i thought / think he was miles behind and he wouldnt score enough in the last game or 2 to catch up.

i asked again last night, and was again told by the operator who went away and asked his supervisor if the runs would count and he came back and said they were qualifying games.

im really confused now... gonna ask again now.

right,,, just got off the live chat with another operator who was much more helpful / understanding and sent this query to the market operations team for once and for all, and didnt just say all runs count / no they dont count as they were qualfying matches like my email / live chats

if those runs scored in the associate phase are carried forward then i will feel well and truly stitched up. I hadnt taken a stance / had checked on 3 occasions would they count and got told no they wouldnt.  1 email, 1 operator and 1 operator  who went and asked a supervisor. All came back and said they were qualifying matches for the super 10 phase.

I then took a position based on what i was told. (which might now be incorrect) Will find out later on if the info i had several times was totally wrong.  Latest Operator did give me a contact tho to raise a complaint... which i will be doing...and if not resolved...then il be off to ibas.

Dont think many followed me in, there was atleast one other layer who was laying with me, one market to be watch out for guys!

Back to the topic if the thread....go team windies!  no laying off for now.  Hoping for a hundred for perra now lol and a 180 partnership gayle and smith chasing it down.   Might then not have to worry on the ruling if they all get infront of cooper

you have every right to be annoyed lanza. one piece of advice i would give going forward is to ensure any info you've been given from HD that doesn't seem right/match up with what the market says (if it looks too good to be true it probably is!) is to double check it's been forwarded to market ops. all matches from the 16th do count and the qualifiers refers to the tournament played in november last year.

i could see where something like this happened, hence why i asked betfair on 4 occasions for a ruling / clarification on what counted and what didnt before making a single bet.

My first reply came from betfair on the 26th-03 in an email id sent a few days earlier to them.  In that email, i asked about the associate qualification tournament and they brushed that aside.  I said it was confusing and could they check if the assciate sides matches in this tourney would count.  They said even tho the tourney started on the 16th they were qualification matches for the super 10 phase.

I thought ok....their qualification matches...coopers / myburgh / al hasan / animul's runs, the leaders at the time so far will not count. Makes sense...everyone starts on zero...abit like the rampaul wicket market a few yrs ago.

I know where i stand - i thought.

Still not taken any bets at this point.

Still a bit worried, little movement in the market i went on live chat and spoke with an operator.

Basically told, the runs wont count and its just the super 10 phase.

Ok... feeling a bit better, iv still not taken a bet but if i see anything i like now, i know where i stand.

i checked the graph pop up and id missed the first back at evens of cooper... i thouhgt dam... someone's made  a error backing him.  (id been told twice by now his runs wouldnt count..by betfair and hes not got enough)... i put up a few quid at evens, topping the 1.8there and went to bed.

I checked in the morning ...and was rather pleased when it had got matched. Hes got a game left but he wont socre enough. I logged back into live chat and asked again.  I asked the operator to please go and check but said id bet the dutch guy and wanted to know if the runs would count.

He came back and said ...im afraid, no they wont count.  (which is what id wanted). My supervisor has advised me their qualifying matches. lol..

So i put up a lay at 6/4 and took some 7/4 that was there. lol.

But the money kept coming and coming..iv by now checked 3 or 4 times and everytime they told me the runs would only count for the purpose of the super from the super 10 phase.  By now...im a little worried but kept telling meself  betfair have told me they dont count. Lay some more.

At this point Iv now decided that im not gonna take anymore.  I log into live chat again.. and told again...look at the ruling on the bottom of the rules page...qualifiers dont count, then they wont and the guy left the chat session.

Feeling a bit smug, iv been told iv basically backed a winner....i put it up on here.  The price drifted to 7/2...(if they dont count...he's probably 1/10)

current book: -810/ +556  lol.  In the grand scheme of things its not alot... im abit peeved as i checked 3 or 4 times before taking any bets from betfair themselves on betfairs own ruling and it was clarified every single time.... they wouldnt count

Iv still not had an email back this morning but i shall be making a complaint.  Like i said earlier....if I'd dived in two footed, off me own back, id take the mistake i made...on the chin 810quids not alot and move on. But When im set up by betfair (feels like it) giving me possible duff info when iv checked several times and actively seeked out clarification, several times before taking a stance just to make sure...where's my pen for that complaint letter.

Id have to say no to when i first checked the rules page.  But betfair do update / have in the past added bits of info from time to time to try and help users. 

I didnt see it there on the 26-3 tho. If i had, i would have wanted clarification on if they were gonna ask the site to provide just the super 10 batting stats?????

If they had just put in the begining all 32?? matches count or runs will count from the first game...it would have been a lot clearer and id have smashed cooper in instead of trying to lay him.

If betfair tell me that the qualifiers to make the super 10 dont count, not once, not twice, but three times  (before i take a single bet)......i just expect that they dont count at this point and betfair will ask the website for the relevant stats...ie...super 10's phase run stats only.

Still no email off the betfair market op team.  someone now wanting 1/2 cooper and 2.2 the other dutch bloke.

im also not sure why anyone in their right mind would think runs scored in the associate qualifying last november?  would count / be carried forward into this comp.  It would be like ronaldo / messi's goals in world cup qualifies counting for golden boot come tourney time. The only qualifiers to me that would need a mention would be those in this tourney's associate phase when the comp started to make the super 1o.  It probably didnt help that the emails / live chats agreed....pushed me to believe confirm what i already thought.   But I wasnt sure, hence the 3-4 checks lol but when confirmed...im thinking we'r all right.  Now as the odds drop 1.40  we might not be.

iv checked my match bets already and the first bet taken was on the 31st march some 5 days after my email i had back on the 26.

i took some evens,  and then had another live operator chat after that.  The live chat op said the same thing and told me that his supervisor had told him they were qualifying matches.  I took some more.

At this point...the money keeps on coming and coming....red looking a bit nasty now and the money's really piling in... iv stoped taking but other layers are still happy to go ahead.

I check once more in live chat and told... look at the rules... and that the netherland / bangladesh qualified for the super 10's. 

iv not taken any more tho, came on here and posted my FREE MONEY selection.

had a live chat session last night on a different subject but at the same time asked the operator if there was anything on file for me, was there a email?, had they had anything back from the market ops team.

They had no record of an email being sent requested from live chat for me on file to market ops team but said the op may have emailed them directly???

iv still had no email on my fate, tho at this moment in time with a big chunk looking for a layer at 1.10 1.20... im not holding out much hope.  And feel royally stitched up.

I will probably wait / not changing my position (tho i dont have much choice really) until settlement before unleashing the wrath of lanza.

Kholi did you a favour there, Just looks so good currently, hardly any dots always rotating the strike.

before yesterdays game, outright...i was about +800 kholi and sharma and pinning me hopes on them to recover any cooper top4 loss.... +120 cooper which i was lucky to hold onto... having laid him outright at about 200 at one point...and -200 amla / jp.

Worst case was saf's winning but i was just hoping either indian would get close and i was looking at laying some evens kholi with india getting in the final which would provide the last chance for kholi / sharma to get over the line.

But kholi was awesome and helped me out somewhat. As he got closer and closer...i was just wanting india to win.  Took a few quid 1.9 and avoided laying anymore until 1.1.

taken a few hundred 1.04 now just incase i get an opportunity with either mahela or sharma getting off to good starts. Tho for mahela to win now would take some doing.

seems all the customer support i received,  the email back on the 26th march,  the live chats a few days after with a, an operator....b, an operator and supervisor all haven't got a frigging clue what their on about and all totally set me up for a fall.

I sent another email also asking for clarification but that was not responded too ...before id taken a single bet in this market. But after having 3 contacts where they all said the same thing ...i thought it was safe to assume it was and put up me prices.

i took some prices... based on what id been told,  which turns out to be a heap of rubbish. From thinking cooper had 80 runs and would struggle to make it in the last games, he had 230 odd and way in-front. Most of the bets were matched as more recognized players in turn had a failure and would struggle to get close.

After thinking enough's enough...this doesnt seem right...i made contact again and was again still told they were qualifiers for the super 10 phase.  you couldnt make this up.

i was very lucky not to have taken alot more but something didnt add up..  Posted on here and then the alarm bells started to ring as other users said they would count?

i only lost about 800 quid but well peeved with the customer service ??support?? all round.  I didnt have that email of market ops either so even if there had been an opportunity to claw some back i was left none the wiser until it was settled...Iv sent off my complaints form, yet to hear anything back, i should have prob gone straight to ibas, but will wait for a betfair response first.
