Draw is currently 3.5 which is starting to look short, especially with both top sixes looking vulnerable. A few showers about but nothing major imo.
SA have not lost here since 2006, and the only team they have lost to in Cape Town since reintegration in 1993 is Aus!
Last first class game was a few weeks ago. It was a four day game - Cobras v Lions. It lasted approx 2 1/2 days.

More reverse swing for the Aus batsmen to contend with. Spin could also come into it later

Draw shortened on the basis of a couple of light showers.

Last time Aus played here, game over in 3 days, with a couple of sub 100 innings. Watto got a five-for, which says movement off the pitch.

Laying the draw. Although, I think SAF will win inside 4 days.

dont have to go too far back to see some easy pitches and tedious games.  Sa would be happy with a series Draw at worstMischief

The last 16 Tests between SA and Aus in SA have been results.

Looking forward to a cracker here.Don't agree saffers happy with a series draw.Think Aus have needled them enough to attack for a outright series win.

Just can't see a draw between these mobs.Layed accordingly.Think this may actually go day 5 last session.

I seem to remember Ted that you called one of the earlier Tests as being played on a road - the Test produced a decisive result, are you ramping up the draw price ,by any chance, lol.

The groundsman has been struggling with the heat and wind, therefore the pitch is pretty dry. Cracks and reverse swing with two good bowling sides = result for me

Can't see a game where it lasts til the last session as being a wise decision to lay the draw before the toss.  If you seriously think it will be a result, but will be decided in the last session, do you not believe the draw price will trade a hell of a lot lower than where it is right now?

Well if I held a draw lay to the last session I'd be gambling on a outcome.Would it be ok with you if I held different positions during the 5 days?Maybe commencing with a draw lay.Oh wise one?

Makes no difference what the draw price last session day 5 when i'm trading draw price day 1 session 1.

Watto past his best, but on a good day he's effectively 2 players for Aus. As Kallis was for SAF. He has a good game on a pitch that suits his bowling, then he is the difference between the teams. Which is why I'm not laying Aus.

I think Harris and Siddle should both be rested, but probably only 1 will. Pattinson probably in over Bird.

You stated that you didn't think the end result would be a draw, so you layed accordingly.  You stated you took a position now to hold til the end, not me.

Just can't see a draw between these mobs.Layed accordingly

I should have known that what you really meant when you said "It won't end up a draw so I layed the draw", was "I expect early wickets to fall, pushing the draw price out, so I have layed the draw to back it at higher odds, then when there is a big fightback and lots of runs and wickets drying up, I will then lay the draw again at very low odds with the game deep into the last session of the test, where I will let my lay ride as there will be a result".....
