looks like the new ball has lost its lustre... should be good batting for a while but the pitch is a bit up and down which may make it difficult later on. (days 4 and 5)

170/3 and NZ are 3.35 as to India's 8. starting to look pretty warped if you want my opinion.
By:
India blew this in the 1st session with those drops.
Forecast still too uncertain for me. I like to be reasonably sure it's either going to rain or not. |
By:
last 3 days looking no probs and the comms think tomorrow will be fine too. hope so as the draw although on side is not the result I want.

What a brilliant day for a nz fan. Gonna head down on Sunday to see nz finish it off :)
Weather not gonna be a factor. Tomorrow is now the most vulnerable but i'll post early auckland weather about 6am before work. I predict a full 90 again. |

Morning all in New Zealand, any news on today's forecast and into the weekend? Looking at the radar it all looks north of Auckland today. Many thanks
By:
no rain in my opinion (or very little!)
By:
it is all north and dissipating before it reaches Auckland
By:
Market on the move now, what price the draw at start of play when people realise the forecasts are good?
By:
evens?
By:
it normally really moves when the tv coverage starts!
By:
pitch still looks flat though or I would go a bit deeper!
By:
i don't think India have a chance in this game. Draw or Nz win. They haven't got the bowling to get 20 wickets.

hi guys, woke up and went to check the weather this morning. A spit or two I felt on my bald head but that was about it. Looks and feels very much like yesterday. I am in Queen Street, central Auckland which is about 4km north of the ground. I have a gut feel that it may be ok today weather wise. THe wind is still blowing briskly so whatever is there may just be blown away just as quickly. will try and give an update a bit later on by I am restricted by being in the hotel and having my window facing east and not really being able to see a heck of a lot. And having to go to street level all the time can be tedious. thats my moan for the day over.
By:
still dry and looking out the window still looks like yesterday. WIll update you all once the radio gives the news as it invariably does about when play will start. (after I have layed the draw off course :) )
By:
Looked at some webcams. Overcast with patchy low cloud, but not obviously raining.
By:
just like yesterday pxb... it really feels the same. I know that is not everything but if I didnt know any better I would think it was Thurday morning. Dejavu.
By:
draw looks short given we should get the whole 360 overs remaining in. Only concern is NZ pitches don't really deteriorate!
By:
that sorta sums it up jucel69. But I can see Boult and Southee getting a few wickets. THe Indian batsmen are going to be more tired as well when their turn to bat comes. This game almost has a WI dejavu feeling about it. NZ forced to bat on a green seaming wicket but getting a crap load of runs......
By:
Yeh Vijay, Dhawan & R Sharma could struggle in NZ & the tail looks quite long. Kohli & Pujara are the danger men
By:
forecaster on the radio now, just changed it to 30% chance of a drizzle shower from 40%. Looking good, not a lot of rain he says and the weekend looking even better. So hopefully we get the same as yesterday.
By:
we are starting to time as well today so that is already a bonus. Pitch report says pitch still looking very good for batting etc. So that tempers the big lay of the draw.
By:
Prefer to lay the draw from here than back it! Much better value imo. 360 overs is a lot & NZ have scored at a decent clip to put them in a good position
By:
I think there is a good chance of drizzle later, but perhaps too late to affect play. Light may also be an issue.
By:
I just get the feeling pxb that we will get all overs in today. Yeah some more rain later... much later and going before tomorrow seems to be the consensus.
By:
wow big plunge on the draw... didnt see that one coming. Maybe the pitch just looks good.
By:
I've been out of this for a couple of days, but will go back in tomorow, especially if wickets tumble today, as well they might in overcast humid conditions.
By:
The old saying, lets see what this pitch is like after both teams have bowled on it. 358 overs left, going to take some nerve to sit this out until Monday!!
By:
just had a shower in queen street... 4km north of eden park but wouldnt make much of it.
By:
the road is wet ie water dark but the rain did not fall for very long
By:
Anderson looking in superb nick or is it just the Indian bowlers that are rubbish?
By:
Thanks for all the weather updates guys. A lot more accurate than the forecasts.
Anderson and McCullum on fire at the moment, a pleasure to watch. |
By:
this is the most accurate if you aren't in Auckland!
