tHEY still have 10 wickets in hand, they only need 298 more not 359.
|
|
By:
and that will coincide with a slowing of their scoring rate

Time to stick a big wedge on India as crazy as that sounds - AUS haven't got the bowling to defend any total on the deck....

Morning BJ,

The total run scorers had 5/6 Aussies did it not? Only Bell did better with the bat than most of the Aussie team. Short memories. That was not aimed at baiting you but seeing as you took it let me get back to your statistical argument and my lies, damned lies and statistics..... Aussies had 5/6 top run scorers? but still lost 3-0? 1302 of their runs were scored in 2 drawn tests 1433 runs were scored in 3 losing test matches. One of those losing test matches, the wicket at Lords was a road. I am not sure what your point is but to me the Australian batting lost them the Ashes even with 5/6 top run scorers. Haddin looked a composed batsman compared to Hughes, Khawaja, Cowan and even Watson at times. Paine is a very good batsman and I think will add to the Aussie team, which, is finally starting to take shape but injuries to fast bowlers and lack of a top class spinner will do for them again this winter. |

I think this is a realistic chase, 2 settled batsmam, quality batsman, fire power to come, no terrors on deck, frontline bowlers all being used, lightening out field, no sixers yet to be hit in the chase, but still going along sweetly, it's not rocket science, they just need to paddle around watson and doherty, job done.

The Aussies only lost wickets to run-outs and slogs - without run-outs they would have been 350/3
