umps being bought is not a conspiracy. but we have to treat it as such and tiptoe around the issue and give umps the 'benefit of the doubt' and all that cr@p. so sad. this world is so fake and gay.
no person that is straight could give that khawaja out surely with benefit of tech?

to me, that decision was like seeing a car on the screen and the ump tried to tell us that it was a tree.
and now we are actually entertaining the notion that it could be a friggin tree like the good sheep we are.

ffs.

When Australia lose wickets when they are not out to the tune of around 33% of their wickets, then if you are doing anything but laying Aus or backing England, then you are in the wrong game.....

steam-i would not be surprised if the boys club of the icc umpire panel had somehow discussed directly or indirectly supporting their fellow umpires decision where ever possible in less their is too much evidence not to (which kwajahs should have been).i am clearly just speculating, but the goings on this series makes me think it is not all above board to say the least.

In general the DRS is supposed to work like the 'red flag' coach's challenges in the NFL.   I.e. you start on the premise that the on-field call is correct and see if there is definite evidence that can overturn that decision.    Unfortunately the 3rd umpires in this series don't seem to be able to see what 99.99% of the rest of us can see and that these decisions clearly can be proven to be wrong.  They need much more training to interpret what we can all see on the TV pictures.   We must use this technology to eliminate howlers but clearly it is not being used correctly so far... Sad

"umps being bought is not a conspiracy"

pokeron, two people can conspire to change the outcome of a match, or result, hence it is a conspiracy.

But, as a wrote before, I don't think that is the case.

it's not a conspiracy. the problem is the clear evidence to overturn thing. it makes a reversal an implicit criticism of the umpires on the field, who the guy knows and who will probably be making a similar decision about him in the future.

in that circumstance their idea of what constitutes reasonable doubt gets skewed.

Let's be honest here it looked a poor decision to give him out but.........if the 3rd umpire isn't entirely sure then he goes with the on field umpires call. So it's out.

If there was no DRS (and plenty are saying we might as well do away with it) then he'd have also been out.

Aussies have still made a decent start here anyway.

Fair enough, just that I had used the word conspiracy prior to your post and thought you may have been referring to that.

We can only hope that there are no more mistakes made for the rest of the series, although the odds are against it.

BJT are you FUMING?

Depends on your definition of fuming....  If you mean am I down to my last computer screen, then yes.  If you mean the firstborn has been thrown through the next door neighbours window with a note of DRS filled abuse, then yes.  If you mean I overestimated the amount of petrol needed to burn down the Sunshine Coast and am now on my phone trying to work out a way through the smoke, then yes.
FCUKING FUMING.

And at 2/120, I think we know it isn't the score.....
