Still rainig there now, they need to be on in 60 mins so needs an inspection very soon as they dither for a good 50 minutes.
By:
20.10....21.10......can people count....
By:
yeah but you know they sometimes play in drizzle in this format.
By:
cant see them getting on in time & heavy rain is due at 9ish so it should be abandoned soon imo.
By:
What was the 2.4 all about a few minutes ago....l o l...
By:
Someone got a call the rain had stopped.

must have started raining a lot again
By:
so much cricket rained off recently
By:
Maybe if the inspectors didnt spend so long arsing about when 'inspecting' the field we might get a game in, albeit short.
By:
SoA is right they might still play in drizzle. They did that quite a lot in Champions Trophy
By:
Sky pictures gone so now market may spook
By:
The problem is that that is based on which umpires are officiating, and whether it starts raining after they restart. I think it probably has to at least stop for them to come on now, considering they refused to do an inspection just then because of drizzle.

2. 4....1.25..
Who cares if they play in the rain... ![]() Lets hope for one more surge upwards... ![]() |
By:
ah, another batch of rain has just appeared behind this lot, thats maybe why.

By:
50 mins to the cut off time.
By:
yeah now I dont like their chances
By:
looks like it will be a couple of hours before there is no rain.
By:
"8.05pm: An inspection was due now but the rain has returned and the umpires will remain indoors. The square is wrapped up, though some of the groundstaff are running a rope round the outfield and making token efforts to mop up. "
By:
nice gap in 20 mins - terminal if they don't start then.
By:
would take too long to sort the pitch out though.
By:
stopped again
By:
Covers are on and I assume they would take another 20 mins to mop the wet outfield due to the rain
By:
By:
I thought the inspection had to be done by 2030 to get the game started on time, in which case it's looking very unlikely, though the market move suggests it could be on.
By:
is 9.10 the cutoff time to start, or is it the cutoff time for the rain to stop? They havent got much time if they have to sort the pitch out now.
By:
Play must start at 2111 and that's assuming it doesn't rain for the full 50 minutes.
By:
By:
Wouldnt be too bothered by the market movements, it is often just traders swinging the market up and down.
By:
By:
After that mopping up rain again came down and the covers came back on again nigel..so there has been some more rain which needs to be mopped
By:
and someone just put £30,000 on completed match no, which is a risky bet unless they know something.
By:
40 mins to cut off..they need to start in 40 mins.
By:
Announcement at the ground though not sure what. Say they need 30 mins to get the pitch ready, that's 2040 inspection so no rain in 15 mins time for 80 minutes needed, seems v v unlikely.
By:
Dont think they ll put all the covers on for minor drizzle but may be you are right.
