If they can get to the pp at around 135/3 it'd give them a small chance. Would leave them with a RRR of 9 with pp overs to come. Not that I see it happening, but for them to have something to launch from and potentially go close they need to be somewhere around that you'd think. Has to be said though, noone in this lineup looks like they can score at 7 an over, let alone 9/10 when needed.

I think everyone knows Australia are not on good terms with their selectors, so they probably lack some of the team attitude they have had previously - any success says the selectors have made the correct choices, and so its a tricky situation for them.

Aus will piss this with ten overs to spare.
They'd better crack on then

the commentators seem to have convinced themselves that 300 was required. Maybe Cook knows perfectly well it was about putting a defendable score on the board and letting a decent bowling attack do their thing.

if aus concentrate on net run rate and batting through now, 8/1 with pp about team of top runscorer to be aus could be worth an interest punt. Needs another 37 runs.

had a shocker in this one - turned a great book into one which wins nothing. Waste of a few hours! Better than a loss though I suppose.
Agree r.e the ashes - aus have no chance.

to be honest I reckon the lions share of 300 was par, we were below they were pitifull, worrying thing for England is they may believe that their sc ore was so good and that a poor batting side look aus had very little chance of chasing it down , I still think india, windies, saffers and co would breezed up .

inconsistency may not rule teams out, once the group games are over it will be more about producing something special as you have to win two games against the the more inform teams.i do accept England don't always need quite as many runs as the other sides as they usually bowl a touch better than the oponents.t6o be fair any one of the 8 sides have some kind of chance of winning the whole shebang.

we will see, Eng needed to win 2/3 games to be semi-finalists plus a nice boast to the NRR, I agree you might need something more in the last two games but the bowling attack is the class of the competition. They have a fighters chance

Well done two ton, spot on. Looked like an under par score but a combination of good disciplined bowling by England & some uncharacteristically meek Aussie batting, it was a walk in the park for the home team...
