93/2 and now drifted to 4.2. They do have a v.long tail but surprised at this price, not a bad start. India at 2.1 look a lay too, or back aus at 3.3.

India to win?

I know Pragyan Ojha has one of the most punchable, whiny faces in world cricket, but I'm still astonished to see him omitted here on this pitch.
It leaves India effectively playing with 9 men. Aus look a fair price to me right now at 11/4 with the game moving on and India batting last. |
By:
Do aus have the spin to compete on this pitch though? Didn't see the start of the match but I guess the fast bowlers looked much less threatening, aus need a good total here to put some pressure on them

Hi, Conch. With the dust and irregular bounce, I should think Lyon would be a threat here in the 4th innings. He ain't Swann or Panesar, but he's accurate enough. That may be enough here.
I Sharma and Bh Kumar were no threat at all, but I reckon the extra effort and better lines of Siddle and co. might get a reward from the occasional ball keeping low. |

if the aussies can bat till stumps with only one more lost wk,they will have done well.

Reverse swing here very good for aus

Hopefully Tendulkar gets out to a massive ump error just to rub it in the BCCI a bit more

Hard pitch to read..... its very slow and I suspect its going to come down to if the Oz seamers can get swing or dodgy bounce.
Reminds of the draw pitch in the recent 4th test v England that did not play as badly as many thought .... Personally I think Lyon will not be a factor as his flat darts on this slow turner should not be to hard for the Indians at least in 1st innings First and probably only trade has been a back of the draw at $4 to sell at $2.80..... Apart from the opener you know India will go the slow grind in the 1st dig. |

How is tendles looking? The spreads give him another fifty runs and I am tempted to sell, he was awful v England and I was convinced he was finished and wouldnt buy a run v aus, did I write his obituary too soon?
By:
He's looked solid enough and pitch not really doing anything. Aus in need of a spinner I think.
By:
Sachin should have walked there.
By:
Australia have got the wrong attack for this pitch
Probably not going to have the correct attack for the series either. Lyon doesn't look up to it |
By:
not much interest in blog here is that because the british are sleeping. if india retain wickets and score slowly the draw must drop. the market must feel the wicket being very tough for aussie in 2nd dig. Any ideas?
By:
Pitch looks dead for the quicks but doing plenty for spin. India obviously have better spinners, ashwin looked difficult enough in the first innings and its doing more now. Expect the draw to go low though a few overs into the third innings
By:
Think Clarke should be doing more bowling
By:
ime on the draw hope india slow it down a bit and the aussies have their batting boots on.
By:
I love how Dhoni often goes up the order to seize control.
I'd like the draw price to come back into Evens but Oz will have to bat very well for that to happen. |
By:
Surprised thedraw is still 3s. Ive just backed out of my draw lay at a similar price. Might wait a bit and then lay again. Wouldnt touch india at these prices, way too short.

448/8. Draw at 3.0 still which surprises me.

By:
be hard for australia to bat out
By:
Interesting game. Starting to look like Australia are going to have to bat for 3.5/4 sessions depending how fast they score. Don't really fancy the Indian attack to bowl them out, but then look at Aus batting and there's only really Clarke of any class. Think it all depends on how Ashwin and Harby (and part time spinners) bowl.
Given how the pitch looks, Aus starting to look a bit tired in the field and the number of left handers in the Aus top order, I'm leaning to India getting over the line. As usual when test match looks like going the distance expect odds to fluctuate. May top up my draw lay if price goes much lower. |
By:
Id rather lay draw when aus have a decent partnership
By:
Forget to say, whatever else happens, this has been a maginificent innings from Dhoni.

How many wickets will they lose knocking off the deficit i reckon 3
