Go away Cook you ****wit.  The rule was made purely for this goose and your retard team that doesn't know where the stumps are.

Finn 1 over left.  Needs to claim 3 in that over, or it will be very tough for the others.

the law, not "rule" BJT, is about distracting the batsmen.

i think if raina had appealed the decision then it would be correct to call it dead, much in the same way that i don't think it should be caled dead if the batman smears him for 4.

it's about hindrance, and in that instance raina hadn't even noticed.

that's exactly where walt is wrong.

it is up to the batsman to decide what a distraction is. they are the ones being distracted or not ffs.
By:

When: 23 Jan 13 13:32
Its about learning how to bowl and stop disrupting the play.  It was stated that the bails come off, it is a dead ball, regardless of anything else.  That is it.
By:
BJT
When: 23 Jan 13 13:33
If he was hit for 6 it still would have been a dead ball.  Has nothing to do with hinderance at all.  How can you claim a batsmen was distracted by something and hit it for 6?
By:
BJT
When: 23 Jan 13 13:33
It should be a no ball, straight up.  Batsmen gets runs and protects his wicket.  No bowler over the age of 3 should be so uncoordinated to run into the stumps on their run up.  It is ridiculous.
By:

When: 23 Jan 13 13:34
if he hits it for 6 it will be called a dead ball if he does the same again
By:

well that's not in the law. that's merely the interpretation of the rule as it applies to finn. i would argue that it's a poor interpretation.

but given that he knows that how it's going to be interpreted, you are right, it should stop doing it.

interpretation of the law (ffs - you've got me doing it now)

Is a simple case of the bowler is the one ****g up, so he should be the only one penalised for that delivery.  The only way that happens is if it is a no ball.

why would Cook dispute the decision with the umpire?
By:
BJT
When: 23 Jan 13 13:43
Because he was desperate and knew none of his other bowlers will be able to get a wicket?
By:
BJT
When: 23 Jan 13 13:44
At the start of this series they stated every time it happened, dead ball.  Previous to that I think they got a warning first.  My guess, is that he was appealing that they didn't get a warning, and therefore it was unfair to take the wicket off them.

At a guess.

As for the rest, unless every time somebody goes out they look to the stumps at the bowlers end ready to complain they were distracted, it is easier just to have a no grey area rule.  Stumps off, done deal.  Dead ball not the right way, but black and white certainly is.  As DStyle suggested, interpretations of rules aren't a good thing.  (Paraphrasing, and maybe didn't state exactly as you would have liked).  Unless of course it is consistant.  Which in this case, it certainly is.

Losing your bank couldn't happen to a more irritating bloke Morse.  You are the only person I would ever be saying this to, but I am happy you went broke.
And I say that knowing full well that you probably haven't put a bet on here since day 1 when you lost the lot.
By:

Should just call it a no ball, a run to the batsman and if he scores runs he gets them and if he is out he is given not out.

The plan certainly was to lay off.  I figured I would ride the price in, lay off, then lay hard as the target looked good given how hard Eng made batting look.  But the more the game went on, the more pathetic the English bowlers looked, and while Dhoni is yet to be given out, it is very hard to lay them, both because he is in great form, and the market loves him and moves it bulk while he is in there.
Not to mention I lost double what I won here on the Aus game so wanted to maximise this win.
And of course, now Dhoni goes out, to the most pathetic bowler in world cricket just to test my patience again.  But Raina being there is good enough, and Jadeja good enough to see them home here with no pressure on.  Will trade off a little though to reduce exposure.

Interesting punditry from Colly

He thinks Dhoni's bandage has affected his tossing,  some might say that tossing has effected a bandage!

He did manage to fluke a 1.03 GSM call on Australia earlier though so unless he topped that 30 cents up on England he still has 3% of his bank left...

a bowler disturbing the stumps on delivery should be given a no ball , so any runs accruing from that delivery count
