the morgan wicket was the turning point here. If that had been giving out, then aussi would have won here

You have just said hotspots can be caused by noise.
Three hotspots appeared at the same time. None were very clear at all. No noise. No snicko. Yet you are 100% convinced the ball hit the bat? ![]() |

right, its been fun lads. Time to make my back to the footie forum. Memorable experience with the cricket folks. Cheerio

It was vaguely near were you thought it hit the bat, because all evidence suggests he did not hit it

They don't use snicko cos snicko is not as reliable..... yet that is what you are basing your argument on...

cleat edge.. get over it

no, it was exactly where the ball passed the bat (even if it didn't hit). As the ball passed the bat precisely, the hotspot appeared instantaneously suggesting it hit the bat. it's not hard to comprehend really.

Its about time Bopara is getting some reward. After for going the IPL last year to concentrate on international cricket.

No I am not basing my arument on snicko.
The POINT is you have to conclusively prove the umpire was wrong. Saying one of three hotspots which we know can be caused by noise appeared near where he may of hit it it is not CONCLUSIVE proof. Given that there were three hotspots appearing at the same time is clear evidence of noise. This evidence would be thrown out in any criminal case as contaminated. As I said before glad you are not a Detective in charge of a murder case. That is all. |

if that's the case why don't I see you crying about Hawkeye where they use a bloody cartoon animation to 'conclusively' prove if the ball was hitting the stumps?

I didn't bet, FF. Just thought he could do with a red inker.

i think you summed it up most succinctly mafeking: the gulf between the bowling is huge, although that id' add that away from very batsmen friendly grounds, i think our batting is better and deeper than theirs.

aussies have to up there game or lose the series 5 0

It's staggering but there's no comparison between these two sides. For what 20 years nearly, Australia were better in every department then under Vaughan we caught up with them and when we won the Ashes back it was an epic contest. But following the retirement of several key players, the roles have completely reversed. England are better bowlers, batsmen and in the field, and this isn't quite as good an England team as it was just a couple of years ago.

not sure about that. at home england are pretty invincible at the moment. think they've lost 1 match in all formats in the last year and that was a virtual 2nd XI 20/20 against west indies at the **** end of last season. that's the sort of thing the old australia would do.
how many of the aussies would get in the england side ? no more than 3 or 4. |
