have you guys never seen cricket before? How can you write of Australia after 5 overs
By:
never ever write of the aussies
By:
Don't see much wrong with the odds really. From this start on this pitch against this attack you'd expect them to go on and win, and the odds say that's 70% likely. Seems about right to me
By:
to be fair, that 270 on Friday was down to an incredible Morgan innings who was dropped early on
By:
Even Trott would fancy doing this in less overs than required. If they don't win from this position they will only have themselves to blame. It may have been debatable whether 250 odd was adequate or not but it was never a big score and this start just makes it a lot more manageable.

there we go
By:
coem on AUSTRALIA
By:
my god is he still going on yawn bore off :)
By:
1.4 suddenly turns into 1.7
By:
never ever write of Australia
By:
one more wicket that turns in 2.2
By:
Good strategy...
By:
weak england batting line up exposed again. Market will get burnt here, cant understand who on earth would be backing England at 1.4 after 6 overs
By:
By:
one wicket doesnt mean weak
By:
england should collapse now
By:
mckay - what a bowler
By:
mckay has put fear in englands batsman now
By:
trott is going to slow the RR right down for England
By:
McKay showing Mitch how it's done.
Ffs Legend 007, have you been dipping your fingers in speed? |
By:
get MCKAY back asap imo! madien and wicket over! cant ask for more then that really
By:
was very predictable that Englands wouldnt keep up this good start.
By:
England got away with one there!
By:
Mkay is causing England all sorts out there
By:
they dont need to now , all they need is 5 runs an over singles here there and everywhere perfect , no need to get all crazy and play the occasional boundary to ease the stress , lump on england asap
By:
5 runs per over with that batting line up? Once bell gets taken out who else there? Trott is a Test Match batter not a ODI batter, doesnt possess the strike rate for runs
By:
stats have just pointed out that Australia are strong favourites here lads. anyone who has made 250 at the OVAL batting first has generally won the match.
By:
1.6 for England. Odds going silly again, market will get burn at as soon a wicket gets taken
By:
the scores are pretty much similar for aussie and england after 10 overs, so its strange why Englands price is so low.
By:
i did say the average here athis ground was 255 but that suits trott and non boundary hitting teams , and dont forget extras, 10 - 20 extras will only help england its cruise control and no need for england to play silly cricket they dont have to go for boundaries just wait for the bad ball
By:
Mckays bowling figures are just too good out there. One run, one wicket after 2 and half overs!
By:
He's not going to do it on his own is he?
By:
if you look at the stats, mitchell has cost australia so far. If it wasnt for Mitchell australia would be in front in terms of score and overs at this time. Aussia bowlers have done alright apart from mitchel so far. BUt michel cant bowl as bad
By:
how good would you feel knowing you ony have to hit ones and twos every over , no pressure for england
By:
how good would you feel knowing you ony have to hit ones and twos every over , no pressure for england
By:
very risky play by England if they shut up shop. They need to close the RR as soon as they can, putting more presure on themselves if they just wait out with defence
By:
and theres the occasional boundary thats not even needed , england on cruise control just need to be patient
By:
i disagree with your strategy delris
By:
if they score single or two off first and 2nd ball or even hit a boundary it makes life so easy to play non aggressive cricket
By:
yes but what if Australia take a wicket or two during that period? Then england will need to chase with poor batsman and at a slower RR
