West Indies have to worry about the follow on here absolutely disgusting stuff
By:
you're right. unforgiveable to be run out in this situation - at least make them work for your wicket
By:
follow on?
By:
heads have to roll, absolutely have to drop players here, Chanderpaul has to open the batting and maybe Chanderpaul should be made the captain as well
By:
such a good wicket as well how can they allow this to happen
By:
Chanders and Rampaul would take this above 200..time for windies tail to wag a bit now
By:
These two need to chip away at this and occupy the crease for a long time, I don't understand if Windies batted like they wanted a draw they might have a chance to win a test match now and then
By:
chanders been superb again
without rain this should now be done by late day, early day5 |
By:
4*
By:
165-8 STUMPS
163 behind To think aussies were 169-7 |
By:
good point but academic I think. NO way WI can win from here. Draw still outside chance if rain/windies have good batting spell. AUS very much big favourites here but certainly not nailed on yet.
By:
oh wasnt suggesting windies could do same just pointing out how much windies have let it slip
By:
yeah, nice point though I felt.
By:
Tommorow it needs to rain and Saturday's rain needs to come on Friday, I don't understand West Indies really don't here with plenty of time wouldn't you want to go slowly until some kind of form enabled you to up the run rate, West Indies should bat every game as if they want a draw there best chance of standing a chance
By:
Dado the windies run rate is only 2.53 how slow do you want them to go. You cant play for a draw every match because that creates a negative mindset which creates bad form. If anything Chanderpaul needs to attack more because he is batting with the tail. He is the best batsman in the team by a mile but is in danger of being stranded 40 not out(better to be 50 and out for the team)
By:
Aston I see what you are saying but I disagree, they need to learn defensive cricket especially during the new ball phase and that has been there downfall after all Australia managed to play defensive cricket and score when the already felt they had a reasonable score

in my mind aus win this test but backing aus at the current odds may not be the best approach there are a number of reasons for this.chandrepaul windies best batsmen is still in and rampual can hold a bat too.2nd reason is how bad is cowans injury will he be able to bat, because we know warner always gives u a chance and if cowan doesnt come out and they get warner early theres scope there alone for nice move in aussie price.also aus could of been in a lot more trouble if the tail hadnt got them out of trouble 1st innings, they didnt handle shillingford at all well and u would expect on a day 3 pitch he will become even harder to play.aus have had a few low scores theirselves of late, yes i know windies have to bat last to lyon but if they do have a low score its about what price they could well be after the blip.but the main reason aus are a no bet for me is the weather system to the northwest of the islands, now im no weather expect but the wind direction looks to be blowing it towards them, how long it will take to get there is another matter but it could get there just at the right time to get a much better price for the aussies than the current price as we all know the over reaction to rain
By:
9 down
By:
Yes, but how many runs to go...?
By:
is chanderpaul just protecting his average here? he's happy to knock a single of the 1st or 2nd ball of the over. can't understand it
By:
Yep should be facing more balls
good effort this morning by wi so far hour gone and 36 added |
By:
WI took 16 overs out this game this morning gr8 effort imo
By:
its day 3 on a test the windies have to win to level the series. they need to be looking at reducing their first innings deficit then have a go at the aussies.may as well lose 2-0 as 1-0
By:
single off the 2nd ball for shiv
By:
Why is it so difficult to get the tailenders out when the first three went for hardly any runs? Perhaps WI batting order should be reversed...
By:
in a 68 ball partnership Roach has see 43 of them!
Mainly due to Shiv putting him back on strike at every opportunity! Roach did take the strike a couple of times with singles off the last ball as well! With that hilf over they seem to be getting some better rotation going now though. |
By:
its all about the average - wants to bump it up and a few 'not outs' will do the world of good! realises how poor the team is - may as well look after his average
By:
another single off the first! i rest my case
By:
finally a boundary!
16.3 overs into the partnership and he finds the ropes! |
By:
OK. So a quick couple of hundred runs from Oz now and put WI back in...
By:
good effort by the Windies 23 overs used up
dont think Ozzies will be so aggressive with the declaration this time round either will want to defo win the series all 3 results still on |
By:
110 good lead
expecting aussies to be all out around some point lunch tomorrow perhaps a 440 lead |
By:
330 between now and lunch gonna take some getting Steps
By:
a 300 run lead will be enough, imo...
By:
probably true Jezza but clark wont set them that
By:
Sporting have opened with Aus run line 235-250 bit low with all the time left in the game?????
By:
I can certainly see Aus hitting 1.1 by the end of their second innings, especially if they have a 300-run lead tomorrow afternoon and four sessions left...
By:
Wow! Market isn't budging and Aus going at 3 an over...
By:
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM !!!!!!!
By:
now we see the RR slow down
