For now I think its a good idea to lay Aussies...

Market has zero confidence in the Windies. What's new?

5 down

looking really tough

Not sure short-arses like Lyon and Warner will be as dangerous as Shillingford here. It's the bounce the tall man is getting which looks dangerous to me, not the turn.

Was just about to say exactly the same screaming, wi look a fair price to me, then again I've been saying that for 6 weeks now with mixed success!

I typed out W Indies still look a fair price here then deleted it before posting, Jack.

I've had the same experience as you the last 6 weeks.

Back for another go, though:

this wicket looks tricky - I don't see WI having great success either.  Could get very interesting

Great minds eh screaming... I'm still in front from the one dayers and t20's but it's been so frustration in the first 2 tests when the market has simply dismissed them and given no chance of a trade.

I've done the same, don't know how to copy but had £200 @ 6.4

Windies got to be Favs now surely
By:

When: 23 Apr 12 21:20
All it takes is two quick windies wicket and the market would butcher the windies backers in one shot...after burning fingers so many times on windies..its always risky to back windies at such low levels..

too many unknowns right now.  IF AUS get bowled out below 200 what will WI get bowled out for?

with the chance of rain etc.. not sure I'd be happy laying the draw either!

Weather looks fine for this match nigel..low % of precipitations predicted..so chance is that we might see a full test match

it's 30% each day.

Yeah saw that..wunderground says it would be mostly cloudy..while yr.no predicts sunny weather for the next 4 days..

Ok west indies love a collapse, but let's not forget the Aussie attack is rubbish, and not as good in any departing as the windies one. I don't think Lyon will cause the same problems as shilly.
By:

When: 23 Apr 12 21:30
Yeah we have heard that and seen how windies collapsed against lyon..so that a no debate actually..windies are as pathetic as they get in playing spin save chanders..
By:
nigelpm1
When: 23 Apr 12 21:31
I think there will definitely be some rain but probably not enough to kill a result.

The one other factor though is AUS will want to save their lead rather than attack - of course that might end up being their undoing though

Different pitch here, Payal.

See that graphic - Shillingford's deliveries are bouncing a foot higher than in the last Test. It's the bounce from the 6'2" Shillingford which is doing the damage here. Lyon won't have such an advantage.

Australia have shortened 25 ticks for 18 runs... How does that work?!
By:
Payal
When: 23 Apr 12 21:44
We ll see that when Lyon bowls..for now too risky to bet on Windies at such short rates..see 18 runs and they are back above 3...another 10 runs..it would be 4ss and if it gets to 220..you would see the 6s again..thats how horrible windies reputations is.

Surely worth a go with a new nut!?

well well.... still three wickets to get.  AUS showing why the market always favours them hugely

STUMPS

212-7

Annoying partnership this for wi

Wade had about 5 lives but hung on in there, close came at right time for wi
By:

When: 23 Apr 12 22:15
nigel right you are..windies back at 4s..it is just how market kills the windies bakcers..and also it si difficult to lay draw here given the rain is around..I guess laying windies at 3 is a right choice..
By:
nigelpm1
When: 23 Apr 12 23:29
definitely think there's a large chance WI will trade back over 7's so laying here is likely to be lucrative yes.
By:

When: 24 Apr 12 11:06
Aus gone too low here surely....212-7 could easily be 230 all out.

Pretty sure that lyon wont get the same turn and bounce as shilly and didnt seem to be much in it for the quicks yesterday.

Obviously, there's always the danger of the calypso callapso but reckon 1.82 for a team 212-7 is crazy. They do need these remaining 3 wickets pretty sharpish though.

out that

When: 24 Apr 12 16:11
Australia added over 100 runs now for the loss of just one wicket. This is why laying West Indies is always worth it - they just don't know how to win tests

WI bowlers doing nothing pitch doing nothing only chances that have come have been by throwing the bat hopefully WI batsmen dont collapse and we get the draw at odds on

killer runs these

think 300+ will be too much for windies to turn round in game myself
