I agree Dougy but I just wonder if with edges, there's a slightly different wording of the rule?? I'm with you though, there was no clear evidence to overrule the Ump.
I don't like this business of half the ball having to hit the stumps. Either we trust Hawkeye or we don't. DRS can often reinforce an incorrect decision which is total madness!! That was the case with Sammy's referral against Watson's padding up. All the DRS did was to reinforce Gould's mistake!! |

Awful call by the 3rd ump
no evidence to overturn ump, seen totally different rules between this and sri lanka |

i've layed a little bit of my wi bet back, with erasmus in the chair who kows what the f*ck we're gona get. Aussies best bat in clarke and and 2nd best in hussy still to be got out, could see a big session for the aussies here.

im not backing runs in test cricket anymore, you can never get out.
By:
dismal shot from watson
so wide to have a go at anytime nevermind straight after a break |
By:
Would love to see Clarke suffer one of his hamstring strains here, so Ponting would be playing the rest of the Test under Twatto's captaincy.
By:
So good to see Windies bowling so tight. 100+ run lead and they win.
By:
It looks like some batsmen have realized that if you refer a catch without any hesitation, weak and confused men like Erasmus will overrule the on-field umpire.

price on aus is bizzare given their run rate
By:
huge partnership this given wades lack of experience and siddle at 8

book
WI +112 OZ -126 draw +214 |
By:
Yes, Aus going nowhere fast. At the start of the day i thought they might get to 320 tonight.
By:
I fancied them for runs today
chucked away last 2 wickets and windies bowled very well |
By:
I reckon this has got draw written all over it. Steptoe? As the resident self-styled expert what do think?
By:
I Reckon DC werent free money afterall
By:
No they weren't, but DC odds went as low as 1.22 so I managed to green up a bit in the end...
By:
I just wish I'd greened up evenly...
By:
what you mean you can state you are on one result and it doesnt mean you stayed with that until the very end and may have indeed got out with a profit
Now that kind of rings a bell that tactic |
By:
3rd ump call on clarke before lunch looking huge now
By:
Laid Australia early doors and pleased the run-rate has crawled today. WI look more of test side than I have seen from them in a long time.
By:
Aussies playing for the draw now imho
By:
The DRS decision was a joke. Not sure what the ump was thinking tbh
undermining both the DRS and the on field umpire |
By:
Flip flop imminent.
By:
This has draw written all over it. Dont see any team getting adventurous to push for a result from here.

new ball will be key
If the windies can get a lead of anything over 150 on this pitch they will win IMO |
By:
Step. I said DC were free munny when the was about 1.7 or something. That statement means that anyone who got on then would have made money, and they would have if they greened up when they had the chance. If you see 1.2 in a match like that you green up.
Just cos I say 'free munny' don't mean that I have to leave my bet on till the end... |

Bishoo Day 5 will be fun to watch. Loads of time left in this match.
By:
Well for all you know Day 5 might be Windies batting if Aussies take it further tomorrow
By:
Don't think we'll see a result here. Aus will be batting till lunch tomorrow...
By:
Alternative 1 if Windies roll over Aussies..Aussies would still manage another 150 runs from here on..which would be about 100 runs lead and would be 5 sessions left in the day... For a result you need Windies or Aussies to be rolled out in roughly 2 and half session. None of the attacks I guess have that edge on this wicket. Alternative 2 Aussies bat and bat deep till end of 4th day which would fetch them a lead of about 150..and then they need Windies to crumble in 3 sessions..can happen and has happened with Windies before but this team looks more resolute..I guess this might end up in a well fought draw.
By:
Agree, that a lot of time is left, but draw could hit 1.2 by the end of the day if they don't lose more than one between tee and close of play
By:
Totally agree with that..I think we might lose overs today as well..its getting overcast...so draw might show 1.2 once again.
By:
I'd take aussies out by lunch tomorrow right now. would mean all 3 results still very possible imo, if aussies bat much past that's when the draw becomes a massive runner
By:
rain however changes everything
By:
Yup Aussies might fold by lunch tomorrow but 5 sessions and scores almost level with windies possibly leading by 80 odd runs I dont see them declaring soon till they are sure or Aussies folding them in roughly 2 and half session to get a decent time to chase the 250 odd in 2 and half session...but saying that weird things have happened before...lets see
By:
Not guaranteed that windies declaring will be a issue.
Rain spoils everything of course |
