Max 3 1/2 hours I reckon = maybe 45 overs

the problem is that these overs are being pushed later into day, if not the best of light later will be factor too

was unlikely to be dawsy, but that rain delay will mean less play in the middle session and more likely that the light stops us getting the full 62 in, probably gonan get max of 55 now, and more like 45-50 overs.

You are spot on Steptoe...they would say no overs lost and would be covered by extra hour.which they can have but then giving that this is raining I am betting it would get dark sooner today..so that extra hour might never show up

Didn't have time to watch today... Is the pitch acting up or still playable?

I remember England winning a test in the dark in similar circumstances versus sri lanka i think

the overs lost don't matter dan as payal points out it's the time lost while it's light that matters

Pitch is still a road..easy to bat on..it was spirited bowling by Aussies which did the damage..no dangers in the pitch

have things not changed since then???
do they not have to go off once the light level reaches the reading on previous days???
have they been off for bad light in this test????

it will be interesting if Oz need 5 to win and they stroll off for bad light.

Yes you are right mcfc..they have taken the reading for previous days as well..so bad light would come in picture again..
By:

I think they went off for bad light on the first day
By:

When: 11 Apr 12 18:22
but over the last few days here they have set the precedent when the players come off for bad light.

So all set now..its about to begin..30 mins delay..so far not enough for the draw backers to be happy but windies would take it

When: 11 Apr 12 18:26
cant see them getting this, 192 in 3 1/2 hours at a slow over rate. guess we will find out the aussies intentions quite early on
By:

When: 11 Apr 12 18:27
It might be closer to 3 hours/40 overs

Resume 1:35, 3:05 hours play until 5pm.     When will light run out?
By:
Payal
When: 11 Apr 12 18:30
So 4 hours remain if we get good light..that is 52 overs with an over rate of 13..and we have tea in between as well...so about 48 overs over all left for Aussies to chase 192...hmm interesting this one..!!!

with Warner having free reign that 5 an over wont look much if hes in for an hour
By:
DAN1974
When: 11 Apr 12 18:31
This could be over in two hours if they dont get Warner out.
