It was probably a wide if he didn't hit it, but was close so wouldn't necessarily have been given

the reason betfair have this rule is coz the big players wanted it, stupid rule

So the 30th over only had 5 balls...that would've made the difference in the result.

Should be a 1/2 run handicap market - save this nonsense

no reason not to have a dead heat.

I agree, it is a darn stupid rule, but I somehow got all red in that match, so to see the most unlikly event of a 3 being scored off the last ball was good for me. I had all green on a tied match before and got nowt, it is a very very very silly rule.

its bad luck for me huge green both side

BF's rule is a lot fairer than that of the Bookmakers who don't quote the tie, but still settle as a dead heat.

whats wrong wiv it being a dead heat?

Just treat the tie as insurance, you can usually get 50-1 early in the game.  No brainer imo. Should do it every match.

Used to be.  But the big players demanded a seperate tie market from what I hear, and it became that way due to that.
This result worked in my favour with a bookie bet paying out half, but still, 15 mil traded over 9 hours to be declared void?  Just seems like it will piss a lot more people off than taking the tie market.  Each to their own.  Not like we don't know it is this way.  We choose to not bet the tie, that is on us.

Bookies offer dead heat settlement to ensure that they make money out of the game with their margins. BF have to have some concessions to the big players, otherwise there is FA liquidity and we are back to betting with regular bookmakers. Their rules are transparent and while it's unfortunate for some in cases like this, it is still fair.

Everyone knows the rules and bleats when it's a tie. Lock in your green all ways with a tenner on the tie, it's not hard.

oh and the offical result would still I believe be a Tie in those instances anyway.  similar to a football match decided on penalties.
