Couldn't back him with your money. Good luck

Was 1.93 last night, been backed into 1.83 in last few hours.

"but over the season has the best times at under 9.70."
The last time anybody ran under 9.70 was three years ago. Bolt's season best is 9.76. Furthermore, there have only been 3 runs ever under 9.70! |
By:
Sorry DC meant under 9.8 as in in the 7s, hope that makes sense. Think he will be better than people expect imo but I could be wrong, thats what betting all about.

By:
CBG You could well be right. I've laid a new WR so don't mind how he does as long as he doesn't do a Berlin on it. When you look at the all-time best 100m runs http://www.alltime-athletics.com/m_100ok.htm his 9.58 is almost unbelievable. It's a full metre faster than the next best time, which is a massive difference.
All this talk of a "fast track" does have me slightly worried though. |
By:
I cant see a new record unless he really has been kidding people on about his form. I think he will improve but think your safe. It is very fast track ,keep check on semis if Bolt runs fast then you may have small sweat on.
By:
He's not going to show his hand in the semi. You won't know what form he's in till the final.
By:
I've backed him @ 1.85, seems like a good enough price, but he's jinxed for me. Laid new 200m WR in 2009 and got burnt. Backed him last year in the 100m and he false started
. Third time lucky. |
By:
platini, Some fast people in the semi so he is going to have to at least start well and run till 70-80 m so should give good sight of what to come in final.
By:
Please don't forget that there are other sprinters in the final besides Bolt.
A couple are certainly worth having a close if not very close look at. I would not put my money on a Bolt gold medal, that is for sure. Good luck to all of you |
By:
I'm contemplating having a big bet on Bolt with a stake saver on Blake. Works out at around 1/4 at current prices (it was 1/5 earlier, so the support has been coming for the field).
By:
He doesn't look or sound confident to me.
By:
blimey he walked 10.08 without doing a drive phase at all and jogged the last 5 strides - can go half a second quicker easily
think it is going to be very fast unless the track is wet and conditions poor anyone got a reliable weather forecast? |
By:
Buckets of rain forecast for this evening. Your bets sunk my friend.

Tyson Gay anyone? Really fancy him for at least a bronze
By:
Yup, I think Tyson can win this if he gets a good start.
By:
any links for the heats?
By:
He wont be 1.82 after the semi-finals. Clearly not fully tuned up. The Beast is the man.
By:
i thought he looked nervous before the 1st round and didnt impress during the race. he really seems genuinely unsure of himself at the moment - i defo think he's not that fit and wouldnt be at all surprised to see him get beat, especially if he has a slow start. could even finish outside the medals imo
By:
this will be when we will see whether bolt can do it the hard way. he is not going to be away at 30m like beijing. he will have to scrap. and seeing as he has had a few injury problems, ad you'd expect blake and gay to run 9.7, i wouldnt go anywhere near bolt at odds on, though obviously he has it in him to win...
i think the bet of the olympics is tyson gay for top 3 at 2.44. he is a championship runner, he ran 9.8 in the us trials 4 weeks ago and has had a good injury free run since, and he is a scrapper. i'd much rather go with him at 2.44 for top 3 than bolt at 1.8 to win. blake is a huge danger too - no fear at all. and if blake gets out ahead, which is likely, then we'll really see what bolt is made of |
By:
^^^^ agreed big time ^^^^ Gay has the talent to match Bolt. Injury has kept him back over the years. But he seems injury free at the mo. I fully expect to see guy with at least a Bronze tonight
By:
It depends on heat 3.
If Blake beats Gay in Heat 3, then Bolt will drift - may even go odds against! I personally see Gay beating Blake and going into the final at 3/1 2nd fav, with Bolt at 3/1 on. |
By:
Gay didn't look great in his heat. With this field he must get a good start if he wants to chase down a medal.
I think there's a good chance its a Jamaican sweep. |
By:
6+ under 10 seconds seems a lock. The only way that doesn't hit is if 3 guys pull up or there is a severe downpour.
By:
Gatlin tb Powell is the bet I want, if I can get a decent price. Still hoping to get matched.
By:
If it's wet it's gona be very difficult for bolt to win.
By:
Why? Will he be the only one without an umbrella?
By:
Claire told me the rain was heading north
By:
Gay has the talent to match Bolt
When Bolt is fully fit, Gay is beaten before the race starts. He feels he has a chance now merely because Bolt is undercooked. |
By:
backed Bailey@28
By:
Powell ALWAYS underpriced in Olympics because of what he CAN achieve, but always bottles up, still remember his hype in Athens 2004 lol if anyhtiing. he's always a good lay in olympics
By:
just layed Bolt @ 1.85 do think it is the bet of the games --sorry
By:
I'm on Bailey too tober. Great value. Quickest in the heats and was easing up towards the end.
By:
Why is it the bet of the games Candy1?
By:
looks massively juiced up imo, could do anything
By:
Backed bolt...1.86 awesome price if he is ready to run his race...should know after the semi's.....saver on richards ross in the womens 400

BE CAREFUL,MANY PEOPLE SAID EXACTLY THAT ABOUT CARMELITA JETER AFTER THE HEATS AND THEN SHELLY ANN FRASER BLEW HER APART IN THE SEMI AND FINAL |
By:
They didn't meet until the final HRE but i agree on your main point, Baily may be overated based on a round of heats where nobody was trying 100%

Bolt's semi final comes down to a 100m jogging exercise. Again, his time will not tell us
anything. Therefore, he expects to beat the lot in one single run, the final. That is very ambitious if the rain stays away. If it is raining, he will be lucky to get a medal. It is going to be a shoot-out between, Gay, Blake and Bolt with or without rain. But if you back Bolt at 1.83 to win, you must have titanium balls. Good luck to all of you. |
