"Jess was a bit nervous" "Jess did this wrong, Jess did that wrong" "I did nothing wrong as I was only following my cue to go"
Now she may be completely correct to say this but it was still funny to hear her put all the blame on the other girl.
DonNo1 Pendleton completely blaming Jess Yeah I just heard her on Five Live:"Jess was a bit nervous" "Jess did this wrong, Jess did that wrong" "I did nothing wrong as I was only following my cue to go"Now she may be completely correct to say this bu
not allowed to say it as its not been verified by the DG,scared of loosing their pension - its worse than north korea state radio, and kim jung hoy as won again with pendelton second.

Thought Pendleton's (television) interview was cringeworthy on both sides of the coin. Interviewer was the same who asked Vino after he'd won what he thought of Cavendish not winning. But Pendleton completely refused to accept blame for being disqualified. Someone got something wrong otherwise they wouldn't have been disqualified. It isn't something that just happens if you stick to the rules.
Anyway, team pursuit team set things back on track quite convincingly.

Layed Germany 4.0 in the heats. GB then get relegated to put Germany in vs China in the final. China then get relegated for Germany to win. Guess some will say why not lay China 1.07 but why would you if they were 1.03 shots

two teams got dq'ed in the heats earlier. and now one in the final. 1 in 30 may apply but the officials here are not allowing any margin of error.
0.3 is not alot given dq possibiltiy, pressure on in a final and scope for the germans to improve.

Same as a baton change. Simple. You train for years, get all the technology, sports psychologists, etc, etc, etc. The least a cyclist can do is wait a few metres before they go. They know the rules.

The expert on BBC keeps going on about the changing 30 yards from the line, isn't the rule the first chick has to lead over the finish line for the first lap.

It essentially is a baton change. In 4x100m, the fourth man's job is to wait for the baton before going. In this it's the second and third legs' jobs to go after the line, not before it. Simple.

It's a sprint race, waiting 'a few metres' wouldn't have got them out the heats. Yes they messed up by it's technical overtake at high speeds, not passing an object at jogging speed

two teams got disqualified in the heats so the very fact you say its a 1 in 30 shot seems bizzarre. it was 1 in 4 earlier. implied pressure was always going to make it a factor, 1.1 was fair if you took out the dq chance but id still of taken it on as the germans may of saved best to last.

You realise that if you don't get top 2 times out of the the 4 semis you don't make the final? There's no real room for holding back

and yes thats a good point but also allow for final inspiration for a better time. there was only .14 in it so they were close.

Just looked at the Chinese one again, looks extremely harsh to take a gold off them from the pictures we had. The Brits changed to late and on that marker there's a decent camera shot which makes it clear but the Chinese changed too early and there was no decent camera shot that we could judge from, perhaps the judges had one which is fair enough, don't know why they couldn't broadcast it on TV if they did though

its a totally pointless and ridiculous rule anyway. the object of the team sprint is to get the last sprinter to the line as fast as possible - why should it matter when they overtake the leadout cyclist?? i feel v sorry for jess and vicky p and the chinese girls - they must be gutted and its all so pointless

...and thanks to their stupid rules we have a gold medal wining team who are clearly inferior - even they are rather embarrassed about the whole thing, winning gold by default. its a shambles

Bauge obviously has the experience and the impressive CV, but Kenny was much quicker than him in the last round and broke the world record. Ok 0.2 seconds quicker than Bauge might not seem a lot but in a short track sprint that is an absolutely huge gap.
Can anyone see Jason Kenny failing to win gold?Bauge obviously has the experience and the impressive CV, but Kenny was much quicker than him in the last round and broke the world record. Ok 0.2 seconds quicker than Bauge might not seem a lot but in a
