Everyone seems to be on different things here! I took the advice of the OP, and layed 19 and under, so i need 20 to become a winner.

Also on over 62.5 total medals on the other thread. Have to say im considerably more confident of the golds coming in as opposed to total medals.

I honestly think its possible to reach 20 without any athletics golds. I'm certainly hoping so as I don't have a lot of confidence for Ennis, Farah, Greene et all.

Well, after a slow  a couple of cracking days. The doom and gloom "we're not coping with the pressure" mongers have been put in their place and we're beating world records for fun! I'm going to update all our athletes' odds tomorrow and resimulate. But I know the answer will be that 19 or under is still way too short. This market is a bit cracked you know. We went from 2.5 to 1.1 in the mend team pursuit and won the mend team sprint, and it didn't move out at all for ages!

You know, I'm getting a bit worried. I can seem to write without making loads of mistakes anymore. Never used to be like that. Still as long as I can do maths I was never that fussed about English I suppose.

around 20 obvious rock solid gold chances left probably 2/3 of those odds on shots. won't need many more outside chances like the 2 today to come in to put it comfortably over 20 golds

I think Ali Brownlee is our best chance of a gold in the entire Olympics. Plus one of his biggest rivals is his brother.

Knowing pumpkinslayertoo I knew his analysis would be sound so I had an interest punt on this and it's really made the whole Olympics so much more enjoyable. My level of joy at a GB gold is directly proportional to the square of their SP!

Don't laugh but there's always chances of Murray in the tennis too. Outside chance I know but always a chance.

think he can beat Fed over 5 sets?

will be ironic if he does

On today's two performances, easily. I thought Fed was more than value for the Wimbledon final, but judging purely on today, I'd make Murray favourite.

Yes, I've just heard it's five sets, presumed it would be three.  Find it quite strange to be honest.

yep, me too - agree it's hard to fancy Murray over 5.

LOOK and LOOK again i have told you that it's the effort thats put in is whats important .. Strewth .. shocking and LOOK .. one gold  medal is fair dinkum and we are sailing fair with that .. but look we have been talking down to you pomms with our ridiculous LOOK for decades ...

WELL ALL I CAN SAY HAVING LIVED IN AUS FOR 2 ~YEARS DURING THEIR FFING SUPREMACY AND HAVING TO TAKE IT IS ... LOOK ,, LOOK , LOOK ... stop saying look and start winning again

Done and dusted this one. 9 realistic gold medal prospects today. Pendleton to win the sprint at around evens looks a cracking bet. Compare that to Murray winning the doubles at evens. Hmm. I know which I'd rather be on.

I was in the Olympic Stadium last night (I don't think I will ever tire of saying that Happy) and I've got to say well done in particular to Greg Rutherford. Didn't fancy him at all for it. I thought someone would bang in an 8.45-8.50m to win the long jump but it never came. He was best of the bunch last night, but could have won it with a mark of 8.17m which is a bit of an eye opener! Will be interesting to watch the other pit events, there might an angle on distances in this stadium.

I seemed to have added several days medals together saying 9. But some good chances today.

me too Happy noise when farah came down the home straight was incredible

when rutherford put in 8.21 at worst he was gonna get silver and 8.31 more or less guaranteed it. just aren't people in the field capable of 8.50 . it's really weak event at the moment. must be the lowest winning jump in decades.

Maf, after last night sport will never be the same for me. I can't even think of what could top that, let alone the topping actually being executed. When my life is flashing before my eyes I hope there are extended highlights from last night.

it was the one night i was desperate to go to knowing there was a decent chance of 2 golds. i'd gladly settled for 1, to get both would have been fantastic but 3 wasbeyond the wildest dreams of anyone
