It might be best to look at teams within the whole of team GB. rowing seems to have huge amount of momentum through various exceptional performances in the heats and therefore has had a positive impact on the rest of the rowing team. On this basis im going to reserve judgement on cycling and athletics until after the first few medal contenders have performed.

Swimming has fell flat with no real momentum gaining performances for others to improve off. Sailing on the whole seem to be under par. Other events we have been deemed to have underperformed tend to be more specific so you cant really judge. e.g Diving.

One would hope wiggins will win tomorrow, and maybe froome to get a medal although the course might not particularly suit froome, this might be the catalyst for the whole of the cycling team to repeat the success of beijing. Same can be said for the rowers tomorrow as well.

we should be able to do far better than just relying on cycling, rowing, sailing again though

Don't laugh but there's always chances of Murray in the tennis too. Outside chance I know but always a chance.

yes but even if he did win the gold it's hardly a legacy for future olympics

boxers will get medals though

I'm not on about legacy. More pricing up 19 +/- golds.

When exactly did we hit 1.41? Plain Out to 1.78 thanks to a banker in the rowing

The two fellas in the breaststroke swimming are in the final tonight ain't they? Didn't they set the first and third fastest heat times?

Yep, 2nd and 4th favourite though. Gyurta still odds on.

Don't see how they price Gyurta that short. Think Jamieson is more than capable.

I am feeling confident having backed under 24.5, under 26.5, under 23.5 and under 23.5 again with different firms and laid the overs on here in all the total golds ready to trade out later

going to be tough to get near 20

The 2 team mens and women cycling sprints will be key today. GB not favoured in either but could jag 1 of them

Still think this is priced wrongly with 19 or under trading at evens now. 20-22 should be favourite and if anything i'd want to be on covered on the high side

Dressage living up to their billing of individual and team gold favourites after qualifying  and the position in the sailing having improved very significantly today. Ainslie back in with a shout, the Star sailors moving nicely clear and the 470 men leading after the first 2 races.

15 needed. Cycling looks strong 3 more?, possibly two more from rowing? That would leave 10, then as you say, dressage and sailing in with shouts, adlington tomorrow. Agree with you, should be higher than evens.

5 so far,

Rowing SHOULD pick up a minimum of 2 more probably 3.
Track Cycling minimum of 4 more possibly 5.
Boxing defintite 1, possible 3.
Dressage definite 1 probable 2.
Athletics 3 should be attainable.
BMX We have the ladies favourite
Swimming definite 1 maybe a 2nd.

Outside Chances

Murray
Women Hockey

Can't be bothered to think up anymore.

Should be 20-22 being favourite I would say, and the 19 or under market is too short.

Sudoko re your last post - Cycling both team pursuits almost definites so with Kierin, Omnium and the 2 indiviual pursuits I definitely expect more than 3 extra from cycling. Theres also the BMX rider though i admit to having no real clue as to her realistic chances. Personally I think rowing will add 3 more on top with women double sculls/lightweight double sculls winning and maybe one out of the mens four and the mens lightweight double.

Add in sailing, triathletes, equestrian, boxing etc predicting 19 or under looks pretty stupid to me as things stand tonight

not that anyone seems to be predicting under 19 - if anyone does care to stat your case?

Evens? - your having a larf

huge today picking up 2 golds from unexpected sources and cycling looks set for a major upgrade on predictions from yesterday. 4 looked realistic last night but now could easily be 6 or 7
By:

When: 02 Aug 12 19:45
i even say something like 16 or 17 should be a bare minimum now even if things went pretty badly for quite a few hot pots. 20 should be comfortable

Tweddle will win the asymmetric bars.
