Grabarz in the High Jump will be massive to the success or failure of the bet imo. Personally think both he and farah will medal but don't see any other realistic chances in the Athletics. Okoye has an outside chance and we will need to be assisted by disqualifications/baton change failures to grab a bronze in the relays.
Might only need 1 medal from athletics though if the remaining boxers do the business. |

Fred Evans guaranteed a bronze, so technically now 9 needed. We have 5 guaranteed boxing medals across both women and men, and 1 guaranteed medal in the 470 sailing class.

So to avoid confusion, we need 15 more medals of which 6(5 boxing and 1 sailing) are already guaranteed leaving us needing 9. I'll try and keep track of this without getting confused!
I think where going to see a slower increase in the medal count from here on in, with it possibly going up by say 2 a day as opposed to 6,7,8 etc. Tomorrows medal hopes, we have 2 chances in the canoe/kayak, 1 in the sailing, 2 chances in the show jumping, 1 hockey semi final and 1 boxing. Realistically, i expect to get 0 in canoe/kayak. The sailing is out of their hands so again 0 there. We should get 1 out of the two in the show jumping, and i would hope one of both the boxing and hockey could triumph. So between 1 and 3 tomorrow by my reckoning. |

I think we have 10 strong medal chances (guaranteed medals aside) over the remainder of the games:-
1. GB - Womens 470 Sailing (Looking nailed on for a medal with 3 races to go) 2. Mo Farah - 5000m 3. 1 x medal in Dressage (GB have the current favourite plus 2 others in the top 10 in the betting) 4. 1 x medal in Jumping (GB have the current favourite, Nick Skelton, plus another rider in the top 10 in the betting) 5. 1 x Hockey medal (both men and women need to win either their semi final or the bronze medal match for a medal) 6. Ed McKeever - K1 200m Kayak 7. Tom Daley - Mens 10m platform 8. Keri-Anne Payne - 10km open water swimming 9. Mens K2 200m Kayak 10. Tom Stalker - Light Welter Boxing We also have a decent chance in Taekwondo, 2 outside chances in other sailing events and a number of slim chances in the athletics (Lisa Dobriskey, Shara Proctor, 3 x Relays) Should be enough imo. |

so what we got left? Two shots at hockey (fair chance of one), mo farah, possibly 1 from the relays. Lisa Dobriesky? BMX prob 1 chance. Open swimming a chance. Probably a chance in Individual dressage. Modern Pentathalon? Any more in Canoeing? Kayak? Any other sailing medals not yet guaranteed? Taekwondo? Anyone think of any others? I make that 8 deffo chances + more. Anyone else add to this list?

A day where we don't add to our medal tally, but we do guarantee ourselves another sailing medal. But other than that it was a day which could have gone so much better, and although the market is short of liquidity unders has moved odds on. Which is a slight over reaction.
Tomorrows medal chances, we have 1 medal chance in the mens 800m, 1 in the kayak, 1 in mens hockey, 1 in the open water swimming, 2 in taekwondo, and 3 in the dressage. So realistically i expect 0 in the mens 800m, 0 in the kayak, i know nothing about the taekwondo chances?? Think Jade Jones might be a decent shout? Mens hockey face a tough ask against a strong dutch side so again i'm not expecting anything here. We should get 1 in the dressage though, and if we have a good day we may get 2 out of the three hopefully. And i would be hopeful we can at least medal in the open water swimming. So could be anything between 1 and 3 tomorrow imo. |
