Beth Tweddle takes bronze, 25 more needed.
By:
that's 40
By:
Women's hockey through to semis.
By:
So technically 23 needed with 2 medals guaranteed in the boxing.
By:
So What do we think , are GB going to get past 62.5 medals ?
By:
Well its looking a lot better than in the first few days of the games.
By:
should get 4 or 5 in the boxing
horsey people seem to be going very well 4 more in cycling look pretty nailed on 3 or 4 in athletics 2 in triathlon that's up to around 55 |
By:
That would lead us needing 8, with sailing, bmx and open water swimming unaccounted for.
By:
Then maybe 1 from hockey, any hopes in taekwondo?
By:
sarah stevenson who did the athletes oath at the opening ceremony. she got bronze in beijing
By:
yes tae kwon do 1 at least
and modern pentathlon |
By:
Went through it all in detail earlier. I think we will get at least 25 more from here. Looks a decent bet at odds against.
By my reckoning the breakdown for the remaining 25 is:- Boxing - 5 medals Canoeing - 2 Cycling - 5 Equestrian - 3 Sailing - 2 Swimming - 1 Triathlon - 2 Athletics - 3 Hockey - 1 Diving - 1 Obviously, the above is only approx with some events having a non-discrete probability but I have tried to balance the books over the whole of the remaining events. Good luck all. |
By:
sarah got silver in beijing
By:
I'll add a couple of outsiders to my athletics list
Decent medal chances: Men 400H Green High Jump Grabarz T Jump Idowu 5000m Farah 4 x 100 Women 400H Shakes Drayton Pole V Bleasdale Not very decent chances: Men Pole V Lewis Discus Okoye 4 x 400 Women Long J Proctor Javelin Sayers 100m H Porter 1500 Dobriskey 4 x 400 |
By:
I think we'll get at least 65 medals, and possibly touch 70.
By:
savannah marshall victim of shocking scoring in boxing just now, no medal for reigning world champ
By:
Saw that judorick, there was an absolute shocker last night, i cant remember who it was, sure it was the mens heavyweights.
By:
boxing is a disgrace
By:
Absolutely Judo. I think of the 25 I have put up as "bankers" maybe 2 or 3 will blow out. I might have undershouted Equestrian though, we have a decent chance of a medal in Taekwondo and a few additional outside chances in Athletics. Personally, I don't think it will be far from the spread but would definitely rather be on overs than unders.

Team Show Jumping guaranteed a silver.
By:
Team Show jumping win gold 24 needed.
By:
Jason Kenny adds gold, 23 needed.
By:
anthony joshua into the semi finals - that's 4 guaranteed boxing medals now
By:
and 2 still to box in the quarter finals tomorrow i think?
By:
Six of the seven male boxers still in.
By:
So with the boxing medals, we technically need 19.
Tomorrows possible medal hopes excluding the athletics: 3 medals from the track cycling. 1 from team dressage. 2 from triathlon. 2 from sailing. 2 boxing. So we could win 10 medals tomorrow, without any outside chances from track and field coming in. I fully expect us to win the 3 track cycling medals, 1 from team dressage we should also do, take 1 from triathlon, and id be hopeful we could get 1 from the sailing. That would leave us needing 13 without the boxers. So i reckon by the end of play tomorrow we could need anywhere between 9 and 13 medals. |
By:
amazing to think it's long odds on we crash through the 20 gold barrier tomorrow when of course the total on the first tuesday night was still nil
everyone knew we had a stackload of great chances coming up from last wednesday on but even so it's gone way beyond the most optimistic expectations |
By:
great thread guys, really good fun reading it through
probably shows what a good quote the opener was whatever your bets, good luck me? just can't believe how gripped I've been by the whole thing awesome, quite simply awesome |
By:
Good chance for Grabarz to get a medal tonight in high jump.
Okoye not without hope in the discus but this is a strong field indeed. Hopefully the crowd will get him out to his best - great to see him nail that final throw in qualifying yesterday. |
By:
Athletics now in reverse gear.
Decent medal chances: Men 400H Green NO High Jump Grabarz T Jump Idowu 5000m Farah 4 x 100 Women 400H Shakes Drayton Pole V Bleasdale NO Not very decent chances: Men Pole V Lewis Discus Okoye 4 x 400 Women Long J Proctor Javelin Sayers NO 100m H Porter 1500 Dobriskey 4 x 400 |
By:
Idowu gone. Spread on how many more athletics medals is falling rapidly
By:
21 needed after gold and bronze in triathlon.
By:
Nick Dempsey adds a sailing silver, 20 needed which is effectively 16.
By:
I think the track and field might just about see this off which is going to be a shame. I can't see anyone other than Farah and the men's high jump medalling. Relay I'll be staggered if do anything other than make the final. How many times have we dropped it in recent years?
Will still be close mind as other sports are stepping it up. |
By:
Andy Turner might have a chance in the 110m hurdles.
By:
We also have a sailing medal guaranteed in the 470 class, so effectively 15.
By:
Team Dressage add gold. 19 needed which is effectively 14.
By:
Laura Trott adds gold, 18 needed.
