It's not actually about right or left, labour or tory. The left is more afflicted, like eating bacon to break a fake fast, but tory politicians do it as well. Like the 'clap for carers' nonsense, they feel they will be shamed and singled out for not doing it.

I wonder how long before this bending the knee/BLM/taking down statues storyline is going to continue?
Most news stories have a shelf life. I really do think it was getting to the time something else would come and knock Covid off the headlines. If Bristol had not have happened on Sunday, a mere 4 days ago, we’d not be talking about statues all day. The old bill should have stepped in and stopped this before the mob took control. Surely, will be in police manuals for decades to come of what not to do? |

Sadly that won't happen, Posy. The vast majority of the rioters are younger.
What might happen though, is they kill a few more thousand old folk they come into contact with later. And some of the nutters will be quite happy with that outcome, less Brexiters around, etc. |
