Spice blends were found to be in use almost 4000 years ago, with key ingredients like ginger, garlic, and turmeric, during the days of Indus Valley Civilization.

Curry powder and the contemporary English use of the word "curry" are Western inventions and do not reflect any specific food from the Indian subcontinent, though a similar mixture of spices used in the Northern regions of the Indian subcontinent is called garam masala. Curry powder was used as an ingredient in 18th century British recipe books and commercially available from the late 18th century.

Curry is English love! God bless it and God bless IPA!

Spices are used to preserve fresh meat not rotting meat. South Indians are largely vegetarians ( not as God intended ) historically because they did not have fridges, I would concur. North Indians and Paki's do love their meat from what I have heard as do I as God intended as do the Greeks and I have just had a kebab even though I was sober...how the fcek did that happen.....lockdown!

Who else knew that Coronavirus was 'woke' enough not to cause infection amongst Black Lives Matter supporters, and Remain voters who don't like Mr Dominic Cummings?

The good thing is Labour will remain unelectable while they support this and other wokery. Keep it up, Comrades.

Fair play to them. They have killed lockdown totally now and we might as well lift all restrictions.

I'm afraid with the media we won't see many polls showing reasonable thinking views of all this. Maybe I'm wrong, and we will. Surely the vast majority of us agree that marches and demos at this time show a level of arrogance beyond belief. It will keep their cause marginalised as well.

The SJWs and the Left generally know they cannot get into power but will latch onto any cause to further their argument, the latest being this white guilt. For the life of me, I can't seeing that getting much traction, outside of the Left and a few middle class students.

Black lives matter so thousands of black people are going to congregate together when we're in the middle of a global pandemic which is killing black people more than others. You couldn't make this shizzle up.

In 6 weeks time, there should be a protest, against the protesters, for killing lots of older black people
by having  this protest.

Absolute disgrace that these people have not been banned from protesting in current virus climate.  While the rest of the country are in a lockdown these rule breakers think they can do what they want.  Massive scenes when 1 family travelled 250 miles away but very little on thousands from different families meeting up and then go back in to their households.  To the ordinary citizen who are sticking to the rules then what you have seen this week what is the point anymore.  Is the Guardian all over this???

America continues to mourn the death of George Floyd.

On Thursday afternoon, hundreds of attendees arrived at North Central University in Minnesota for the first of many memorials in honor of George.

T.I. and wife Tiny, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, Master P, Minnesota Vikings football player Tajae Sharpe and NBA player Stephen Jackson were just some of the guests who joined George's family in celebrating his life.

The memorial, streamed on NBC News, included prayers from religious leaders, music from local singers and messages from neighborhood leaders including the President of North Central University who announced the George Floyd Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship helps promote the education promise of aspiring young black American leaders. In fact, North Central University President Dr. Scott Hagen challenged every university president in the United States to start their own fund at their respective college.

Audience members including George's family erupted in applause when the news was announced.
