Oliver Dowden and, Baphornet's favourite expert contributor, Jonathon Van-Tam.

Will any of the journos ask why the government is unable to figure about how many people have been tested since 22 May, yet they are able to tell us how many tests have been performed Confused

Dowden joined the Conservative Research Department in 2004, moving to PR company Hill & Knowlton in 2007, before returning to the Conservative Party in 2009.

He then worked as a special adviser, and David Cameron's deputy chief of staff, where he said most of his time was spent on "day-to-day crisis management".

Dowden was regarded as having expertise in the attacking form of political communications, leading to comparisons with Alastair Campbell.

When standing as MP for Hertsmere, among the policy priorities Dowden highlighted in his campaign were improving transport infrastructure, preserving green belt land and improving education. Dowden opposed Brexit prior to the 2016 referendum.

In January 2018, Dowden was promoted to Parliamentary Secretary to the Cabinet Office, as part of Theresa May's cabinet reshuffle.

Appointed Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General by incoming Prime Minister Boris Johnson on 24 July 2019 in succession to Dr Jesse Norman, Dowden was sworn of the Privy Council the next day.

LONDON (Reuters) - After a near three-month shutdown, all competitive sport in Britain can resume from June 1 behind closed doors provided strict conditions are met, the government said on Saturday.

The first major live event is expected to be the 2000 Guineas Stakes horse race at Newmarket on June 6.

People are so confused and p!ssed off with all of the confused messages, lies, exaggerations and obfuscations that they are just going to do as they please, if they weren't doing that already. The only ones that will continue to incovenience themselves for the greater good will be the old, infirm and vulnerable groups who have no choice. After the conduct of Johnson and Cummings, most people willl just say: "Phuk it! I'm going to do what I want", and to hell with the consequences. Our leaders have lost any moral authority they may have had, and they seem to be ignoring most of the science, anyway.
