True. He also wished folks a peaceful end of ramadan recently.

If his position is that he never did anything wrong why is he going to apologize ?

If he believes he never did anything wrong, then his castle is higher than previously estimated.

And frankly, if he cares about the Tories, he would've apologised long ago. Very first thing after the media reports. Any fourth-grader could've prophesised that this entire thing would balloon, hurt Johnson, hurt hurt the government, hurt the Tories far more with the route Cummings and Boris decided to go.

Spoke with a friend who's actually a political analyst and we disagreed on whether he'd go or not. My stance is that the rules of engagement have changed and Cummings in particular isn't a party apparatchik who will throw himself in front of the bullets. He's pure ego and self-centred. Any conversations about him resigning will - I'm sure - have been met with threats to take loads others out on the way. I think he genuinely feels he has nothing to apologise for; has that psychopathic trait that Jon Ronson wrote about a while back and genuinely feels aggrieved that the press are making such a fuss over what he deems to be nothing. Thing is, it's not about him any more. It's on Johnson now.

You’ve just reminded me of the scene in Brexit : The Uncivil War when they tried to fire Cummings from his Vote Leave job.
Johnson probably hasn’t watched it so Cummings likely used the same tactic Grin

Maybe Cummings is a plant to bring Boris down. He used to work for quite a long time for Gove after all Shocked

The longer Cummings' dark arts seduce Johnson to cover up, the more damaged Johnson will be at the end of it all.

All will be forgiven once we see the “pent up tidal wave of investment into this country“ that we were promised Cry

I wouldn't mock the pent up tidal wave of investment into the country.

Investment is just often code for the sale of national assets or ownership of domestic companies. Lower pound makes "investment" more attractive. Couple that with likely lower hurdles than within the EU and you have takeover galore from China.

Dont worry I suspect the sinophile is complying notes(and names)and once we go cashless and get some form of biometric id I am sure retribution will be meted out(inexplicably bad social credits ratings etc).  I am only half joking.

People like Anna Soubry are probably as bitter as ever about their former party, pp. Though of course Chuka has a fair few to chose from.

The irony of 1st time poster moralising over Cummings travelling to where his wider family is at a time of crisis, at the same time merrily calling someone a rent boy.

Cummings relatives lived two streets away from him in London.

Tom Harwood has different politics to 1st time poster, so he must be a rent boy. Please give up on your incessant preaching.

I'm not the one preaching about others' behaviour. Simply noting that you may be falling some way below the standards you appear to expect of others.
