What exactly is the benefit for this government of not simply being honest with the population regarding the Cummings affair?

What cringeworthy bollox. There wasn't one convincing word to support Cummings.

And that's what we have to put up with as an excuse for a Prime Minister.

Funniest moment Peston's reaction.

it does have the vibe of like when Trump does the next dumb thing he does and all libs get excited that this will be the thing that sinks him.

and then he just gets away with it and nothing happens

Good news for everyone who is anti-government for Cummings to stay. Nobody is doing a better job of causing division within the Conservative party than Cummings.

They won't take some elitists twisting the narrative. They won't stand by elitists looking down on them. They won't allow Cummings to not eat his humble pie.

As I understand it someone in the welsh labour government went for a picnic, got spotted, and the leader subsequently changed the rules. This is about sniffing an opportunity of getting Cummings scalp.

Bad, bad, bad. Why was Bojo there? To put up a flimsy defence for keeping Mr Cummings (for the time being) or present damaged limitation data and info on Covid-19?

Just quote Mr Cummings and reference to Bojo if stopped by coppers about driving half the length of Britain to possibly secure childcare that was eventually un-needed.

Bojo has just opened a new can of Covid-19 worms concerning lockdown.

Anyone who is in a public position and does not abide by the rules should be gone . I think the rules are a joke but I do as I am told . They are scum .

If you aren't personally afraid of it, just go outside, travel, do everything you like and don't bother caring about anything the government advises.

If Dominic Cummings stays, as he and the Prime Minister plainly want him to do, then let us accept that. In return we may treat with derision and contempt the stupid rules which the government imposed on us, but does not itself respect.

Well said, Peter

We will gain *nothing* from the pursuit of Dominic Cummings, disagreeable though he is. His actions were quite reasonable. It is the *rules* imposed by the government he serves which are crazy and wrong, and should be abolished forthwith.
