“With the situation around Catherine Calderwood- I didn’t defend what she’d done...she also said she’d made a mistake and she profusely apologised for what she’d done. I think that’s the first difference between these situations.”

there was a lot of cynicism about the sudden discovery of his son's alleged condition last night.  The days are long gone when you could manipulate the public with a sick kid... I think quite a few of the public and the media are going to want hard evidence of this condition.

Presumably, Ministers have reached the end of line of making themselves look foolish.

Absolutely, no chance of this conference going well for Cummings. Charm school he isn't. There will be no sympathy whatsoever beyond the right wing loons.

See above for the telling questions. Any half decent journalist should be able to tear him apart. Will Andrew Neil be there?

Nineteen points

No that’s not what I am saying if you read the post I said I don’t know much about him,the question I am asking is clearly the prime minister thinks very highly of him and should he be hounded out.

I also said he isn’t my cup of tea .

A Press Conference is opened to every news agency who bother to turn up. It's very different to one who's been invited specifically or agreed to do an interview with for a fee or otherwise.

An un-elected political advisor could plea for their job after being incredibly arrogant and un-repentant standing on a box in Speakers' Corner.

they think he's the architect of brexit and Boris's landslide victory, foxy. Yes he is a fundamental part of Boris's team, which is why the media smell blood. Part payback and part fear of what Cummings has planned.

the child theory started on twitter not mentioned once by mrs cummings when selling her corona in London lockdown article, but

dan hodges who prides himself on been more in the no than laura, said on tv today when talking about childcare,FOR REASONS I,M NOT GOING TO MENTION ON HERE

10 MINS LATER,cummings fav tom harwood on tv ,their vulnerable child with certain problems

its been lined up for 8 hrs, which 3 days might have got him a telling off and a free pass, but if he admits to Bernard castle sighting cant see how the child story helps,
wouldn,t such a kid be happier, safer in his normal surroundings at home,he,s certainly not stopping 5 hrs in a car without a break

I voted for Brexit thus Bojo because the alternative was so unthinkable and calamitous to Britain. Imagine "chicken" Corbyn, Communist McDonnell and Ms Abbott leading the country? Respect lost in every country in the world these geriatric leaders will bring.

foxy - he's sat in on SAGE meetings, and is the SPAD to the PM throughout this crisis. Ask any other country (prob apart from Russia, Brazil and some US outlets) their opinion on how we've handled this and it ranges from bewildered pity to guffawing at us.

Maybe the thing he's really good at is convincing other people he's quite smart.

There's no doubt he would be a significant loss because he has some radical but much needed plans. Much of it related to sharing some wealth around the country. I don't feel like it would necessarily hinder the covid recovery in the short term. And he could always be brought back. I feel it's really important that the media can't decide who does and doesn't work for the government of the day.

I have grave doubts too 1st time poster, but I have a feeling he'll spin it this way...

Due to his son's condition he needs familiar people and surroundings - hence excursion #1.

When the got back to London they realised they had left the only toy that really mattered to this son, so excursion #2.  On the way there, his son begged to see the castle - one of his favourite places - so to de-stress his son (look how caring I am...) they paid a visit.

Cue the tears, the bowed head, blah bloody blah.

the papers concerned asked downing street back in early april where cummings was, downing street couldnt answer the question because it would have undermined the 'stay at home' message, anyone denying this is a fool or a knave.

foxy - well I'd hope by now you'd know quite a bit about his integrity and honesty. Also his background, with the huge family castle in the north east. He went to a private school, then Oxford and then spent a few years in post-Soviet Russia when the state was stripped bare by Putin and his cronies.

If - like some on here - you believe this is the guy that's determined to share wealth round the country, and isn't just the latest of a long line of rich snake oil salesmen, saying one thing while doing another, then that's up to you my friend.

if he plays the autistic son card that will only make it worse. such children generally need familiarity and stability so the best course of action would be to stay at home.
