If they hold an enquiry then surely Cummings is gone and Boris and the Cabinet are left thoroughly embarrassed, or at least they should be.
The questions seem to be very straightforward. Assuming that he actually needed to leave the house in the first place did he have any alternative but to travel 260 miles? Who knew of his intention to take this action? If he didn't tell anyone in government why not? How many other times did he break lockdown to travel to Durham? Have his actions undermined the government message? On the information out there he looks to be guilty of every charge. |

Why make his own statement? Could it be he's coming clean with sightings of him in a castle whilst in Durham? Just go quietly and disappear into the sewage like a vermin.
I understand he's the Prime Minister's chum and political advisor, but he's a nobody in the eyes of the public, and un-elected. Thus the advice and instruction given by the government and their health experts/advisors regards lockdown apply to him too - no exception whatsoever. |

If he was instrumental in "managing" joe public expectation in this pandemic then it's best he goes given the 3rd rate performance of the government in tackling and containing Covid-19.
Mr Cummings has made a mickery of the rules governing lockdown, and must go otherwise a possible revolt on any further future lockdown. He's also making it nigh impossible for the police to act upon "blatant" abusers of lockdown who claim to be acting on "instincts". |
