A lot of proper thickos in the world who would want to be locked down forever
I reckon a good 10% |
|
By:
jucel those numbers were a bit exaggerated by the msm, i have been to a few of those beaches and they were not as busy as in the summer.
Mostly young people on the beaches who are fed up with it all and accepts the risks, plus vitamin D is best treatment you can get..... |

Rolls Royce cutting 9,000 jobs and warned it will take ''several years for the airline industry to recover from the coronavirus pandemic. What is the point of this??? End Lockdown, tomorrow as far as I am concerned, get this country back to work. There is nothing to stop at risk older people isolating themselves, food and other things can be delivered END LOCKDOWN asp! |

Ah c'mere lads, your resolve is weakening,i know it has been nearly 2 months.
Ok,how's this, say the UK was Slovakia,1 new case today and fingers crossed for them say no new cases for the next week. Have Slovakia beaten the virus,a long way but until everyone is tested it won't be known if there are any asymptonic fellas there. However can Slovakia function "normally" within it's own borders at this precise time, yes, almost certainly, Greece,Scandanvia(Sweden excepted) the Balkans,Austria,Germany are very near as well, can they open borders to each other? very nearly imo. They can work together. The UK with say 3k new cases a day,is that just asking for trouble in a merry go round of covid? a long drawn out process? The reason you aren't getting an easing is because of a slow and lax lockdown. Level 4, stay alert. |
|
By:
Lax lockdown? How could it have been tighter lapsy?
|
|
By:
was his post humour or irony, i need help ?
|
|
By:
Dotchinite allowed to go out without a mask/gloves, workplaces with little adherence to social distancing, no strict praticing on transport for a few, it could have been tighter but i think it was a fair enough one.
The main point is it was too slow, too many cases when lockdown came into effect. |
|
By:
Sorry IS, it was against the general consensus but the OP asked a question, what specific issue and what part can i elucidate on?
|
|
By:
It wasn't a lockdown because there was no army on the streets implementing it
Its been one big preparedness test ffs "preparing" for what though ?!?!? |
|
By:
there hasn't been a lockdown ...just a few restrictions
|

I said weeks ago that the furlough scheme was a disaster , rewarding those who lounged about in their back gardens for weeks on end while the low paid had to work harder than ever .
Now the sunbathers are allowed at the beach it's in full view of the the workers ...are they are beyond furious ...not being invited to the party etc . In fact a spit in the face of all key workers yet again ... millions of very unhappy bunnies |
|
By:
furlough should've been 50% and the rest means tested
|
|
By:
went out on my cycle ride today and to the meadows and yet again it's like an august bank holiday ,families out everywhere ...i feel like my space has been invaded 50x over ...i'll be glad when these fookers get back to work
![]() |
|
By:
not to mention the constant noise of DIY going on with BBQs and daytime parties all going on during the week while i'm peacefully sunbathing in the garden ...feckin racket

|
By:
lockdown my arse
|
|
By:
Boris ...stop the pay cheques now ... let the fookers earn their keep on the fruit fields

The animosity will grow rapidly
I can imagine neighbours fighting in the streets soon as one comes back from work to see another pissed up in the garden with a load of mates |
|
By:
I was angry when we were stopped from working, did t see the bee£ with my job. Happy with the Furlough arrangements, bored wanting to go back to work, now more than happy to stay furloughed till October...I know this is wrong
I am not sure if we need to be in lockdown or not scientifically or medically. What I do know is the ticking time bomb is about to explode.....the economy, finance, unemployment, businesses, homes, mental elf. I believe old people / care homes should have been protected. We can work and wash our hands. Try and keep a distance particularly indoors where possible. Outdoor workers should have kept working or at least returned to work sooner. No essential works on roads and railways have been done. What a great opportunity has been missed. Still no hand sanitizer on railway station entrances or platforms, shopping centres etc We are lead by Donkeys. Look after yourself don’t trust the authorities |

Unions and teachers refusing to open schools.
Yet I bet they still want the state (us) to pay the teachers. 13 people under 20 have died having tested positive (9 with pre-existing conditions) yet teachers refuse to work. If teachers/kids live with at risk people or at risk they should be allowed to not attend. The rest should be back. |

I thought there would be more resistance to the govt ordered lockdowns(esp. the young). Then I stumbled on a website(RSF). On their Press Freedom Index 2020 the UK is 35th. On their 'enemies of the internet' report - how govts hamper the Freedom of Information through censureship and surveillance - we are rightup there with the worse of them. Definitely in the top 10. Granted not all internet censorship is bad and the website founder is a nasty piece of work the info made me understand the dynamics of people vs govt and people vs press more.

My place overlooks the beech and I can tell you it was a mad house yesterday, as busy as any summer Sunday, all car parks full by midday, fish and chips, ice cream, beer sellers all mobbed, tens of thousands from all over the Country now mixing with the locals, if this doesn’t cause a massive spike then it begs the question was a lockdown ever really necessary?
|

By:
Large numbers of people outdoors will hopefully be a good thing overall. Small (if any) increase of covid risk should be more than offset by the health benefits of people being outside. Public toilets might be an issue - not sure if they're open yet - maybe open-air portaloos are the future

I hope the scientist know what they are doing...with this lockdown
Normally a virus will attack us kill those it is going to kill, and then will gradually drift away, because those it has not killed will have herd immunity But by locking people down we are not getting herd immunity, so the virus may hang about longer? Still I am not scientist, so I hope they are right For people that live on their own like me, this lockdown is solitary confinement, because I cannot visit friends and they cannot visit me in case we endanger each other. I will be glad when it is over I should be grateful to survive as well, a lot won't. |

In the meeting today they stated that the death rate is that of a flu epidemic in the winter at the moment. they did say comparing the high rate in winter and its now late spring
Only reason for lockdown now is the high transmission rate compared to flu as we wouldnt lockdown at this rate for flu so they've snookered themselves now when the next flu outbreak occurs what are they going to do, the next flu strain makes you lose your taste smell you get fever as most flus do aches and pains and lethargy as most flus do WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO |
|

I've said from the outset the lockdown was a complete farce and laughed when I read people on here worrying about sterilising letters.. one freak was even rattling on about washing his hands 50 times a day inside his own house as if the virus had a key to the front door and was going to stroll in when his back was turned.
Statistics show that once deaths from missed health checks/cancer checks are factored in coupled with the economic fallout on the way, the lives saved are fairly minimal .. we are all on borrowed time over a certain age anyway. What's the logic to a person over 70 staying home for years afraid to open their door with cancer/heart disease waiting to kill them soon anyway in all probability- some people seem to think they are immortal like a modern day highlander character where they have endless years ahead of them dodging the metaphorical bullets of death that fly past every day ranging from cardiac arrest to cancer to dementia etc. I'd sooner be 6ft under than holed up like some of the cowards on here for years on end with the highlight of the day a chubby nurse in a mask outside my window waving singing all things bright and beautiful. |

Great post wolf.
We all have 100% chance of dying at some point. We take precautions and evaluate risk whilst we’re here. But to allow fear to be our lord and master? Never. |

Lock down appears to be over here and people are just enjoying their paid holidays.
I see hundreds of people walk past my front window on way to the beach. All with a few cans in hand. Groups walking that are not same family. Kids in groups etc. Only things not back are jobs and schools. It just appears to be one big party at the tax payers expense. Boris caved yesterday on non-nationals getting free NHS treatment on the tax payer. He needs to toughen up and take on the unions and get Britain back to work. |
