The daily figures were, for a brief period, being released between 2pm and 3pm, but that has all changed this week.
We now don't get them until the briefing itself.
No doubt a deliberate ploy, and we'll get the chance to see the Cheshire cat grin on Hancock's face when he announces that he's fudged his hundred thousand tests.

Dont try buying stamps in the Post Office for the next few days. They have mailed out as many test kits as they can to massage the figures. Lets see how many they post out next week. When the tests come back no doubt they will count them again as new tests.

Total horsehít being spoken here about what will happen and what a great job they are all doing. Other countries just have doctors telling you what is happening based on data, numbers. Farcical that you have a politician waffling every single day at these.

I actually think it might have been a tad indulgent, but can't blame him with the amount of stick he's been receiving. Clearly lots of effort has been put in to enhance testing capacity, which is the important bit.

Testing apparently not been an issue throughout. Too much virus here already guv don't compare us to other countries. We weren't ready at all for a disease like this but we knew it would come at some point. |

Swabs have to be sent to a lab, tested and then returned to sender. Takes the best part of a week.
