For a good while they were only testing suspect cases in hospital. The ratio should now be coming down daily.

To be processed in a lab or do they also send out a PCR machine with the swab ?

I feel like a PCR machine being mailed out is unlikely.
Yes, so the test hasn't been processed then , has it.

when stated as an aim was the 100,000 people or tests to be done?
All the talk has always been of tests with no reference to people.

Last 4 days: 6k from 122k 73k people tested, 6k from 81k 54k people, 4k from 52k 33k people, 4k from 43k 29k people.Big drop in positive rate because 40k tests haven't been processed.
1 in 7 people positive, 1 in 8, 1 in 9 and now 1 in 12 today. Horseshít

It's perfectly logical.

thanks, i have just seen a bit on the news and been told call centres. they need boots on the ground and local knowledge, environmental health officers would be appropriate, i hope they are not ignored.
Been a lot of discussion around that and claims that a lot of the local expertise no longer exists.
There was a woman who works with contact tracing for STD's on Newsnight just last night explaining how you'll need well trained individuals to perform the work.

Not in one day it's not. They've already admitted that 40k tests were delivered to people, ie no results in today's figures

Lewis Goodall@lewis_goodallAlso worth pointing out that ministers have been talking about tests performed rather than people for most of this period, unlike original Downing St tweet. Clearly though, many of the tests sent in the post, won't have been completed yet.Goodall also picked up on the original Downing Street people tweet rather than tests.
He would, wouldn't he

The ratio of positives should be falling as tests are increasing. You can't know it to the exact decimal point until the tests taken have been analysed.

Not my point but you knew that. My point was 100k tests in a day is horseshít

Exactly.
