This is the million dollar question and it depends what day it is and what expert you care to listen to.
Some very early were having you believe 50% could already have been infected. Latest today on Andrew Marr Professor Christophe Fraser SENIOR GROUP LEADER IN PATHOGEN DYNAMICS, NUFFIELD DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE said their recent estimates now were in a range between 3 and 10%. like a lot of the information in this pandemic answers will only become clearer as time rolls on. |

Heard on the radio, we're expected to go through 3 x 15 week phases of this.To reach a peak after 6-7 weeks of each phase. We're halfway through the first phase atm.
Let's arrest Boris for treason!! .. Or we could just give the guy a Break. ![]() |

stridingedge, this is another point scoring thead, ' how many he thinks he infected?'.

It's worth repeating, the hospital death toll is only one measure of the overall detriment suffered from the virus. Whitty is right as usual, we will only know the true affect years down the line when it ceases to be a significant threat to life and our way of life.

i want no deaths every day.i want the real figures to be given if there is a need for them, which i dont think there is.i want my life back to as normal as possible without putting anyone at undue risk or harm and i want this political charade to end as it is belittling to the british people.we are being treat like idiots. as for you fools who have the nerve behind a keyboard to say we want more deaths then quite frankly anger isnt a word i can use towards yous.pity springs to mind more readily.

The pattern is there in blue and white, high figure = new boris derangement thread about the daily total, low figure = no new thread from the Boris derangement mob.

From the bbc just now...
Mr Eustice is asked if when the prime minister is back at work he will follow the first ministers of Scotland and Wales in publishing a lockdown exit plan. |
|
By:
There's a very bizarre dichotomy of some people being extremely concerned about the number of people still being killed by the virus in hospitals, care homes etc, but are also desperate to know when and how exactly the various lock down measures will be unwound. I suggest that they will find out the strategy for beginning to unwind the measures before they actually occur.
|
|
By:
Some of the population are able to simultaneously contemplate multiple information sets.
|
|
By:
Some are also beginning to break the lock down measures also, as the data speaks to, and don't need much of an excuse to take more chances. Just because I'm sensible and rational doesn't mean I ascribe those traits to 50+ million others.

i wonder when the buffoon pulls up at work tomorrow, the car doors all fall off and about 10 of his gang jump out the car before it goes on fire?

By:
Thank goodness we have the Scottish and Welsh governments leading from the front, someone has to.
|
|
By:
You've still not been able to quote a decision made by the first minister that had any jeopardy. Not a link to fluff and filler btw, a tangible decision that had consequences.

|
By:
The bbc think they have been taking the lead. Boris and his sheep might follow eventually.

Ireland 4.904 million
UK 66.65 million so similar ![]() the fact that London alone is double the population of Ireland, all squeezed into a densely populated city with about 30 times the amount of international travel has nothing to do with any differences ![]() |
