that many wards are closed. A nurse I know was  asked to take a week’s holiday NOW because there’s so little to do!

It’s a large town hospital serving a wide area 45 minutes from London.

In her opinion the NHS is over staffed WITHOUT the 750k voluntary army.

If its the Queens in Romford Injera i can confirm your post.A friend of mine works there as a porter and he tells me the nurse's are just sitting around chatting. The A@E is deserted and their is so little work for the porters they are told to go home well before the end of their shifts.

Sussex twizzle. Commuter town serving A LOT of people. Really strange..

Interesting to hear it’s happening elsewhere.

Ive wondered for a while what a lot of NHS staff are doing. Gps for example who seem to have given up seeing people but if pushed may begrudgingly talk to you over the phone for a couple of minutes.

When Numbers drop , I would suggest the Nighingales being used where available to treat C19 ,

Dedicated c19 staff etc , people not attending hospitals due to fear of virus ... Plus

would stop the spread in main hospitals ..

I've been writing in this context on the forum for ages, but this elevation of anyone connected to the NHS to god like ststus is an extremely dangerous narrative in my view. The crisis is being leveraged by the left for all its worth. There ARE some true heroes in the NHS, but the rest are just hanging off their coat tails. The people who do the true graft and are putting themselves on the line are not taking to twitter, sky news or insta.
Report Cider • April 20, 2020 6:05 PM BST
You don't fall into the NHS by accident, it's by choice. Once in it, it's a job for life and a gold plated pension that most other people outside of public services could dream of.

Can you please provide a link to a media report claiming that hospitals are being overrun.

Report Cider • April 20, 2020 6:17 PM BST
It's beyond me the whole clap for carers saga. It amounts to emotional blackmail. Of course now companies have to be seen to be joining in with the virtue signalling so every second ad on the telly now links into NHS workers.

Nobody is mentioning that test capacity isn't being used because the self isolating NHS staff aren't turning up for them. Even though the media narrative was tens of thousands wanting tests so they could get back to the 'front line'.

There's something else at play, they ain't daft so why are they allowing people to stay at home and find all this stuff out?

Or it could be the right guys are running it and are exposing the lies and it runs much much much deeper than this virus

Off point but i would still like to be told why half a million a month passengers are still being allowed to walk off planes at Heathrow and straight into our communities without any checks whatsoever. The Government line that " its a small risk" doesn't hold water. We are expected to stay indoors and isolate. The Government are fcking hypocrites.

There's been lots of filming in foreign hospitals. Repeat footage from New York, Lombardi, Madrid. The never ending PPE narrative. Filming in UK care homes (edited like a horror movie). Filming of GP hot zones. Oxygen crisis in Watford etc. It all helps to create an alarmist narrative. Ross Kemp is apparently reporting from a UK hospital, but I've not seen it.

Lockdown? there isn't one

Yet the death rates are dropping and the infection cases are slowing, yet there's no lock down, the food is stocked in supermarkets meaning the ships are still bringing it in and the lorries are arriving at the supermarkets

No fuel shortage either. Its one big con for vaccines.

Could be that people are putting off going to the hospital because they are worried about catching the virus or don't want to be a burden thinking hospitals are currently overwhelmed or the hospital has put back appointments a while ago amid the expectation of a sudden influx of patients.

obviously they didn't plan for the right wing knuckledraggers not to work out for themselves that if schools were shut, millions of workers laid off, roads empty,no sport,no leisure.noi kids playing outside, everyone confined to their house the pressure/use of A and E,would be greatly reduced, along with people fearful of catching virus in hospital so staying away,

The point as far as I'm concerned is that the vast majority of NHS employees are not superheroes, they're doing the job they're employed to do. I do acknowledge there will be a raised fear factor for the minority for those taking care of the patients who are covid 19 positive, that however comes with their chosen job/career, like police during the riots or fireman at Grenfel. There is a concerted effort to make the whole of the NHS workforce out to be superhero martyrs and I believe it's a very dangerous approach.

People staying away for fear of the virus?

Yes, my favourite piece of irony  was the BBC talking to a surgeon, on a hospital ward, he was stating his concerns that people with serious conditions were staying away from hospitals for fear of the virus, after a thank you doctor, the same reporter moved straight on to the hospitals ICU
to show virus patients gasping for air and looking moments from death.
