Trying to remember the tv programme about the guy who gambled a lot, could've owned a bookies, set in London maybe. He had fair permed hair, his on/off girlfriend had dark hair. Could've had deal in the title. Used to enjoy watching as a youngster.

Indeed. I was of the age then to fancy the daughter. Love Geezer from Bucks Fizz sang the theme tune.

I'm confused a bit too. Blush

Watched that episode, with the link. Very good.

Was there a spin off series along similar lines?

Seem to remember the girlfriend, not a wife, having black hair and the guy was younger with blond permed hair, he was a cheeky chappy type character. Pretty sure he ran or owned a bookies.

Gonna have a search about the net.

Paul Nicholas also starred in a 1980s drama called "Bust" in which he played an entrepreneur / ducking and diving type.

Prospects was good at the time. Starred the late Gary Olsen. Think it was made by the same company as Minder. Euston Films.
