Whitty and Hancock shook it off but not Boris. Seems to be so random.

What is random about a fat bloke who drinks too much who has knocked up his bird and has the worries of the nation on his shoulders?

Where have you  people been the last couple of months?

With regard to the next Prime Minister Market...what a bunch of ****. Was on the cards!

His incompetence has resulted in the death of so many people and now it is in the hands of The National Health Service. Let us all hope they save his life and he has his own Damascus moment.

You can injure the lungs more if you ventilate a patient too quickly

ventilators don't cure people, they just give time for the patient to recover on their own

When you mechanically blow air into damaged lungs faster and harder than humanly possible, ventilator-induced lung injury may result. Generally, for a person to tolerate the undertaking, they have to sedate them, leading to immobility and severe weakness. While sedated, the person cannot cough or clear their airway effectively, leading to superimposed bacterial pneumonia. This is an awful lot to survive. And in the case of Covid-19, the preliminary outcome data is rather dismal.

Facts are you need to be on a ventilator from early on or your chances are greatly diminished, not my words but that of Royal academy surgeon.

Tbf I slagged him off before he got sick and before Doctors, Nurses and Transport workers died because of his incompetence but Nicola Sturgeon of course should resign because her dumb and selfish Chief Medical Officer drove 50 odd miles in a car with her family hurting nobody but rendering herself a hypocrite. Meanwhile Dorris has put his child and mother of his baby at risk because of his stupidity and we all need to sing Kumbaya.

The New England Journal of Medicine published a case series of very ill Covid-19 patients in Seattle with data up to March 23: of the twenty patients who went on a ventilator, only four had so far escaped the hospital alive. Nine had died. Three remained in suspended animation, going on three or four weeks of ventilation. Four escaped the ventilator but remained in hospital. Data from NHS intensive care units are broadly in line with the Seattle series. As of 27 March, of the UK’s ventilated Covid-19 patients who left ICU, only one-third were alive. Not reported is how many of those made it home.

That was a good description. Ventilators don’t necessarily save people, far from it. If you go on one you need to get off it within 4 days I think

I think Mr Raab is very concerned too when giving an update just now like most of us here and up and down the country. It's never a good sign when condition worsens so soon after yesterday, and this afternoon update.

Boris, you'd need to fight this young man; you've come this far, just a few more steps to go. The country has never needed its leader more than presently.

Hang on in there...everyone is praying for you Bojo!

Having been on a ventilator in the past(not due to covid) I can assure all it is absolutely horrific when they bring you back round and try to take you off it. No one can understand the feeling unless you have been there. My thoughts go out to him of indeed this is the case. Still get nightmares with the thoughts of how it felt.
