He should not be working. I don’t make any secret of my dislike of him but he should not be working. Stress is a terrible thing and the virus is not to be underestimated. As long as he does not go on a ventilator he should be ok hopefully.

Why is the Prime Minister sick enough to take up a hospital bed, but well enough to work?

Nobody seriously believes he is 'working' in the normal sense.
All the statements are aimed at playing the situation down. |
|
By:
that's because they couldn't say it is serious and is barely responding etc, couldn't get away with that, but the fact the story runs....Boris is in hospital with Corona.
|
|
By:
Boris is in serious condition you can be assure of that
They don't admit you for tickling coughs, something seriously wrong as he's been kept over night and still hasn't been discharged yet #wheresboris |

By:
Are the doctors and nurses 'crisis actors' then ?
|
|
By:
Well, he is either ill and in hospital or he is running the country. Which is it?

By:
why would the doctors and nurses need to be crisis actors?
![]() he was admitted with persistent Corona virus symptoms, all reports are it's not serious and he's in good spirits, don't doubt that, that's the point. |
|
By:
But he'd have been discharged by now darren
He's got something wrong to be kept for 24 hours |

Maybe a Prime Minister gets some extra precaution.

If Raab is really now in charge (who knows?) then they should bring in someone experienced like Jeremy Hunt (ex Foreign Secretary/Health) as support.

I generally steer clear of conspiracy theories, for example flat earth, there's a guy who says he believes in this on This Morning, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wClJlarfyhE, who you can tell if you watch the whole way through, is trying very hard not to laugh
but this is quite a simple one and not far fetched, the government desperately wants to seem in control by having people adhering to their demands of not going out, last thing they want is scenes of people swarming parks splashed over the media etc, especially as weather warms up, no better way to ram home the importance, according to them, of staying home by having news at the top of the hour, through the hour, every hour of the Prime Minister no less being admitted to Hospital with the virus. It really would be a dagger blow to their credibility if people enmasse ignored their demands and went out in crowds, carried on as normal, sunbathing, having parties etc. |
|
By:
The image of being 'in control' is not helped by being 'in hospital'.
I have never heard of a government in the history of the world pretending that the leader was in a bad way when he wasn't. Plenty of examples of the reverse of course. |

Which is it? ^ What a bizarre statement. Clearly he is overseeing the direction of policy but he is not (and never was) doing the heavy lifting of all the details. That is why we have different ministers running departments with thousands of civil servants. He is still running the country. Amazing the lack of knowledge some people on have of how the country is run. |

The idea someone cannot feel unwell and also work is strange. They are not mutually exclusive things.
|
|
By:
he is still said to be at work, and it also encourages people to stay at home, it really is not a complicated theory!
|
|
By:
Their main aim is to get people to stay home.
Boris being admitted to hospital would encourage this as it rams home the 'seriousness' of the virus situation to people. That's just the simple point I'm making. |
|
By:
Thousands of people are dying, that brings home the seriousness. The vast majority will not be harmed at all though, which leads people to figure they will be OK and why not go to the park etc
The idea that one extra person in hospital, whoever he is, is going to transform everyone's thinking, when there are tens of thousands in hospital already, makes no sense whatever. |

surely the bizarre thing is bragging about shaking everybodys hands in a hospital full of infected people.doing this while standing in a room full of people very close to each other after being on telly telling folk to isolate a was your hands.do these people think they are immune to what us commoners can be infected by? if it had been a film by the 3 stooges it couldnt have been scripted better

I'd like to know what constitutes a fever?
Our bodies naturally go up and down all the time, I've had days in summer months where its 38 and felt no different, summer our temps naturally increase hence why our immune system is knocking off things easier |
|
By:
Notice cuts clot up quicker in summer as well, in winter it takes longer

Our temp goes down we feel warmer, our temps go up we feel colder

The idea that one extra person in hospital, whoever he is, is going to transform everyone's thinking, when there are tens of thousands in hospital already, makes no sense whatever it doesn't really You are talking about thousands of people very close to death already and mostly quite elderly, and this is something people are well aware of, plenty of people have been flouting the stay-at-home policy and the government doesn't want any mass scenes as the weather warms up as already said that would show them up a bit and look not in control of things. This one extra person in hospital as you say, just happens to be thee most high profile person in the entire country. |

Since Sunday evening, the prime minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus.
Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital. The PM has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is the First Secretary of State, to deputise for him where necessary. The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication. |
