Perth Tesco stores don't cater for the whole country Fattie and Sainsbury's are only delivering to the high risk folk and the elderly.  Otherwise it's Click and Collect ONLY with them - at least in Stirling and Dundee.

Your advice is sound for those with family, friends and neighbours but some peeps don't have any of them out in the sticks.  Having a SORNed motor doesn't help much either Laugh

Be careful with the editing as Ocado sent me a message yesterday morning that I was no longer able to edit today's delivery (usually it can be done up to the evening before). Luckily I had already done my edits. Props to Ocado in this difficult time, I received everything apart from shampoo. And the usual loaf of squashed bread lol

Tesco:

There are currently no available Tesco's home delivery slots for nearly another month.

At the time of writing, there is no delivery available between March 26 and April 15.

The supermarket has now suspended all new delivery sign-ups due to demand.

In the future, they hope to set up delivery slots reserved for those in mandatory self-isolation who can't risk going outside for supplies.

It's worth checking regularly in case people change their minds and cancel their delivery slot.

You'll also get regular online shoppers who will book slots in advance by sticking a loaf of bread in the basket, checking out, in advance of adding to the order  at a later date. You're only charged for the order when your order is picked on the day.

There will be many thousands of customers sat there with multiple secured delivery slots.

The question is therefore, is this fair under present conditions with so many vulnerable and keyworkers fretting as to how they can get just one home delivery to help them out of a hole?

are you both in the group that can't leave your house for supplies, ie shielding. It's not clear as you're both seemingly looking to get online delivery slots but also agree it should be  elderly and vulnerable only.
Report i_agree_with_nick March 28, 2020 6:49 PM GMT
Tesco are not as yet limiting deliveries to the elderly and vulnerable.

Sainsbury's and Waitrose are giving priority to those customers who they already had a record of as in these groups. They are waiting for the government to pass them the details of those who have registered as being a member of a vulnerable group but are not known as such to the supermarkets.

I have registered on the government website.

Presumably, some people are aware when the slots become available (if they ever do) and are possibly multi booking?

I managed to get a slot for Asda in a couple of weeks but that will not suffice on its own.

Nothing for Waitrose, Ocado and Morrisons at all and no signs of that changing. Anyone got any idea when these three offer new slots?

This is the latest info from Ocado

We have experienced such extraordinary levels of demand in recent days that despite our best efforts, we simply have not had enough capacity to serve all our customers.
To put it into context, practically every Ocado customer, no matter how infrequently they may have shopped previously, is now looking to place an order every week. At the same time, with families at home, the average size of orders has almost doubled. This means there is an unceasing level of demand several times our current delivery capacity.
We’ve already taken decisive steps to manage this demand, closing our doors to new customers, and limiting customers to one delivery slot every seven days. However, despite these measures, we can see that not all Smart Pass customers have been able to book a delivery.
As an Anytime Smart Pass member, we consider you to be one of our best customers, so we’ve set up a temporary priority queue to enable you to book a delivery slot each week.
How you will get access:
We have divided all paying Anytime Smart Pass members who joined before 2020 into a number of equal-sized, randomised groups. You will be placed in one of these groups.
At spaced intervals, we will give each group access to the priority queue, enabling them to quickly get in and choose a slot for their weekly delivery. We will do this by sending each group an email and text message between the hours of 9am and 5pm, starting tomorrow.
Once you get your email, you’ll have the rest of the day to place and check out your order. Please wait for your message, as you won’t be able to access the priority queue at other times.
Please be aware that there is still high demand for slots, and you may not see full availability for all time slots. But, because we can now prioritise the customers we let on to the website, and each customer can only have one slot, you can be confident that there are enough slots – and groceries – to go around.
Our developers continue to work on a better solution which will allow us to manage this in a simpler way but, for now, this fix at least helps us to prioritise you in the short-term. It makes access fair, and helps to keep traffic to our website at manageable levels, ensuring you the best possible shopping experience in the circumstances.
Please note: our usually all-knowing Customer Service team can’t set-up or change this temporary process, so they won’t be able to tell you which group you are in, or when you will get your email.
Thank you for your continued understanding and patience. We all understand the huge responsibility placed on us, and we are working tirelessly to help feed the nation at this challenging time.
Your Ocado team

(we've not received the email to say we can access the priority queue as yet).
Report differentdrum March 30, 2020 1:20 PM BST
So anyone who isn't on a priority list can forget it. Why register new people if they have absolutely no chance of getting a slot? Bonkers.
