the fact that there are so many well known people who have the virus, people we all know, means it must be much more widespread than is revealed

No ones getting tested,a cover up for the figures doctors are on twitter with symptoms cannot get tested, two people on twitter their grandparents died were tested 3 days after they diedShocked not while being on the ward, god knows how many have infected and the relatives now have symptoms..Basically unless you're seriously ill the figures are totally unknown, absolute disgrace..

Southwark,  South  East  London. 13 cases so far, population 317,256.
It can only increase  rapidly  I would have thought as one of the major schools in  Dulwich shutdown recently.

They tell you stay indoors for 7days if you phone them and you're not too bad. You don't get tested so you're not a confirmed case.

So if they work out the death rate on the numbers of confirmed cases, it's going to be a lot higher than if they used the actual cases of which they can only guess.

Yesterday they were guessing that the numbers of cases were between 5,000 - 10,000.

Pick your own number - your guess is as good as theirs.

BBC saying 37746 have been tested. 21 dead.

0.055 %

When: 14 Mar 20 16:52
Injera - 37746 is the number of tests not positives. If you're negative, obviously there can't be a fatality.

Apoloigies if I've misunderstood.

You would never know if you had been infected unless you went for tests . Could have been millions with it . Still can't get any tea bags or toilet roll in the supermarket .Cry

1140 is the number of confirmed cases to go with the 21 deaths.

What's that 1.842%

I’m assuming the majority of those tested are very poorly. The fact that most of those have tested negative is encouraging, although they may still die from other complications...

It’s just an indication really of how many people are at serious risk of death from corona.

There's no doubt that there are [pick a number] positive cases out there that we are unaware of because they haven't been tested.

This does mean the real fatality rate will be lower but it means they will be out there spreading the virus.

People with symptoms have been told to self-isolate but will they?

There will also be those who are asymptomatic.

Found this from the States:

Number of deaths of persons age 65 and over: 2,067,404
Deaths per 100,000 population:
65-74: 1,790.9
75-84: 4,472.6
85 and over: 13,573.6

Add up the figures from 65 to 85+

Divide by 100k. See the percentage .......
