On the last count on the 19th of October 2019 they say that there are 120 million on the island of Great Britain."don't know who counts them but that's the numbers and that's too many in my opinion."they can double in population very quickly and climate change experts say that the heavy rains are taking them out in the open.they like warm places when the frost is about."so keep your doors closed ,because if you live in London you are only 20 yards away from a Rat.
Laugh.the good news is that London is only fifth on the list  of world cities that are over populated with Rats.Chicago is top.
so remember,"keep doors closed, you don't want to be going to your fridge in the dead of night, half asleep and you see a dark shadow scurrying across the kitchen floor"Shocked so shut that door!

Rats are intelligent.

We had rats in the loft. Bought an expensive trap and bait it with cheese. Next morning the cheese was gone, the door was locked shut, but the trap was empty! Ditto for the next four or five nights. Still don’t know how he managed it. Ratty Houdini.

Torquemada... a friend of mine is a ratcatcher. He says to put peanut butter or cream cheese in the traps, that way they can't
snatch and run with the bait. Works every time, or so he says?

About 30 odd years ago at about 7.15am each morning week days I used to commute five days on Constitutional Hill (opp The Queen's Residence) to work. I'd see rats scuttering on the green opposite, and across the road most mornings - they were big ones.

One morning traffic was stopped outside Buckingham Palace. A white Ford XR3 convertible came out; a female was driving with a male passenger. The driver was Princess Diana on one of her early morning shopping trips to Oxford Street or Knightsbridge perhaps.

found a piece of xmas chocolate that had been eaten /nibbled at edges set 2 traps with chocolate spread following morning 2 dead mice.
set em again last night and caught another . the price you have to pay living with plenty of fields and wooded areas surrounding.

lumps of chocolate cheese dont work with mice either as previously stated with rats  they also  have the capacity to nick the food and avoid the trap

Something i can not understand="why do local councils not catch a few hundred, inject a disease into them and then let them run again to mix with the rat families, they could inject them with something that is transmissible and spreads from rat to rat ,and then the rats will do away with themselves. And it would cost very little money.
unless of course rats are a help to society in some way or other??????????????????????????

Oh god mice

We get them bad at this time of year, we live right next to a field so winter is always entertaining with those little fackers

A half left packet of crisps on the side and its feast time for them, and they mate like crazy Cry

Only consolation, when there's mice there's no rats about, very rarely do mice go anywhere near their big brothers

Reckon you need a head shot with an air rifle.
I once shot one directly up the rectum. It shot about a foot in the air then scarpered.
Reckon the word got round the rat community that my garden wasn’t safe as I haven’t seen any since that day.

Cute little things aren't they?
I used to see them running along the bottom of the garden until I started feeding the feral cats. Haven't seen any since, they will be lurking on someone else's property.
