Rats are intelligent.
We had rats in the loft. Bought an expensive trap and bait it with cheese. Next morning the cheese was gone, the door was locked shut, but the trap was empty! Ditto for the next four or five nights. Still don’t know how he managed it. Ratty Houdini. |

Torquemada... a friend of mine is a ratcatcher. He says to put peanut butter or cream cheese in the traps, that way they can't
snatch and run with the bait. Works every time, or so he says? |

About 30 odd years ago at about 7.15am each morning week days I used to commute five days on Constitutional Hill (opp The Queen's Residence) to work. I'd see rats scuttering on the green opposite, and across the road most mornings - they were big ones.
One morning traffic was stopped outside Buckingham Palace. A white Ford XR3 convertible came out; a female was driving with a male passenger. The driver was Princess Diana on one of her early morning shopping trips to Oxford Street or Knightsbridge perhaps. |

found a piece of xmas chocolate that had been eaten /nibbled at edges set 2 traps with chocolate spread following morning 2 dead mice.
set em again last night and caught another . the price you have to pay living with plenty of fields and wooded areas surrounding. lumps of chocolate cheese dont work with mice either as previously stated with rats they also have the capacity to nick the food and avoid the trap |

Something i can not understand="why do local councils not catch a few hundred, inject a disease into them and then let them run again to mix with the rat families, they could inject them with something that is transmissible and spreads from rat to rat ,and then the rats will do away with themselves. And it would cost very little money.
unless of course rats are a help to society in some way or other?????????????????????????? Anyone know if Rats are good for anything ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Reckon you need a head shot with an air rifle.
I once shot one directly up the rectum. It shot about a foot in the air then scarpered. Reckon the word got round the rat community that my garden wasn’t safe as I haven’t seen any since that day. |

Cute little things aren't they?
I used to see them running along the bottom of the garden until I started feeding the feral cats. Haven't seen any since, they will be lurking on someone else's property. |
