just like oz
although on a much smaller scale  we have interference and going against local tradition and common sense

when the flooding happened in somerset it eventually came out they had stopped dredging the drains and rivers on the flat moorlands    - river  Parrett   hadn't been dredged for years
the locals pointed all this out

they followed an eu directive   and decided voles were more important and must not upset the natural life

Before then dredging had been done almost annually   - you would often see the machinery in the fields etc

I know the area very well

They started dredging again and then low and behold  now they have stopped it this year coz of natural sensitivity or something

basically the civil servants fkd up again

Most people seem to remember that when they were kids the summers were hotter and the winters were colder. Of course they're just memories unsubstantiated by facts.
