'I deleted my Twitter because I really believe that these platforms have given a voice to the far right, and they use them to spread disinformation and lies, which will win them elections and ruin people's lives. If they didn't exist we wouldn't be here. 'I want to delete my Instagram too but I am just not there yet. I so wish I was.' |

There was a video the BBC put out a few weeks before the 2017 (s)election, where a mid 20s something woman moaning about people signing on and claiming benefits and not working. Would that young woman care a jot if the media hadn't demonised the welfare state? no one cared in the late 90s did they? then shows like Shameless, Jeremy Kyle, benefits programmes on C4 came along and the rest is history as they say All I see now is how unemployment is at record lows month on month. Welfare state being dismantled and gotten rid off. |

Anyone criticising the state will be dealt with through the terrorism act Macarony It is if it was true. But its zero hours and self employment that brings it down not full time jobs. The welfare state is the last line of protection for these people. |

I agree in part but not all jobs a zero hours and minimum wage we need to tackle the reasons that have allowed this situation in the first place and that is mass immigration, supply and demand

Welfare state gone = scroungers gone, so can't blame them Immigration (supposedly) stopped = no flooding of supply and demand, so can't blame them What else have the media been lying to you about? who will they blame next? Wages and working hours will always stay as they are because of inflation, wages go up so your pint of milk goes up, simple economics So when people are still working their fingers to the bone and still struggling to find a nanny who is she/he going to blame ? |
