Had a good long chat, what you up to, do you get out, any relatinship etc. To cut a long story short he said he's been chatting to a woman on some web site, i said Facebook, twitter, tinder etc. He didn't answer but on his phone showed me a picture of her!
Drop dead gorgeous, he said she's 37, he's 66 well overweight, balding etc. I said how long have you been chatting to her, since September he said, oh where does she live, Living in Ghana he said at the moment had gone to sell a property she'd inherited, but was living in Stevenage when he 1st started chatting to her. Well he's well and truly besotted and told me she's coming over to stay with him in December.
Showed me more pictures of her, stunning looks a bit like the original Wonder woman Linda Carter, jet black hair, big boobs fantastic figure etc. I said you dont actually believe that picture is her do you, without being funny you're not a Geoge Clooney look a like, have you shown her a genuine pic of yourself, yes he said. Apparently he's going to pick her up from the Airport. I'm genuinely worried for his safety, as have a feeling that someone else is going to turn up, possibly a nigerian/ghanain who knows, he has no family or close friends left. Im worried that he'll meet someone, take them back to his house and she/he will drug him and take everything he's got, possibly his identity.
What do you think i should do, thought i might follow him to the airport and if this 37 yo woner woman turns up thought id get in 1st and pretend to be him take her back to my place!Grin
But seriously, he's besotted, the person even messaged him whilst i was with him, what should i do?

To be honest Charlie and 11KV that's what i thought, really expect him to get a message saying needs money for the flight etc, does surprise me that he's letting himself be conned, after pressing him for the Website he was on when they started chatting, he admitted it was something like UK sex chat or something similar, so thought may not be an African scam but just a Brummie prossie after 500 notes for a night!

i met a bloke who was a diplomat in nigeria and he had some amazing stories of scams. one time scammers would approach a mark with 100 blank pieces of paper and say that they were in fact $100 notes but the print had come off, all you needed to do was give them $2000 and they could get a chemical that would return the notes to new. they got one british woman and poured the chemical on the pieces of paper, when nothing happened they told her they needed another $2000 for another chemical that would definitely do the job. the woman gave them the extra money.

He said he's just intrigued to find out!
Remember many years ago, myself and about 15 pals went to Amsterdam for another mates stag do, courier told us not to wander off on our own around the Red light district. Most of us stuck pretty close together but he wandered off on his own, besides nearly getting robbed at knifepoint he looked into a Bar and saw a bloke on the Bar getting a massage off a girl or two, went in and he also got a massage. Girl/s said no charge but have to buy them a bottle of Champagne, said was 25 gildas, paid on his card. When he got home and got his bank statement had charged him 2000 gildas!
Did say was a good massage though! Guess you can't help some people.

A call to the local police perhaps for advice for a (possibly) vulnerable and easily taken-in long time friend. Maybe the police have heard similar stories. Or let's hope she does not turn up or if she does she looks like the person on the mobile, and genuine. But, like you I do have my suspicion.

OP probably is himself the woman trying to scam the poor bloke. He just posted here to see what angles he needs to cover so that he doesn't come across as a scammer.

I knew it was him when he wrote in the thread description "the person even messaged him whilst i was with him". Now why would he write that?
